We'll I'm in San Diego County and play most of the rooms in the county. Some rooms we play more of the old school mix, some more of the hard rock stuff. But generally these are danceclubs, bars, and nightclubs. You know 9pm to 1:30am 4 to 5 sets a night. Usually about a buck and a quarter a night to $200.00 per man. Anywhere from a 100 to 400 people in the room. When I play up in LA we tend to play more of the Old School mix and alot of the new R&B/Dance stuff. Here in San DIego we can get away with more of the hard rock stuff (as long as they're dancing).

Yeah, Man in the Box is a lot of fun. It's slow enough that I can concentrate on my tone. You need a singer w/ good pipes to pull it off. We frequently start the night w/ I Think I love You, we do a heavy version that goes over well. A lot of our stuff is genre bending, it's not on the list I posted, but we do Friends in Low places as a Ska/Punk tune, it's kicks ass! We also do rocked out ethnic stuf like Tarantella and Beer Barrel Polka. People are into the Blink, but everyone yells when we do Ozzy. I put a sort of Rolling Stones line to the White Stripes tune. I tried to tell them that I was allowed to go get a beer during that tune, but they didn't buy it.

Our gig last Saturday started out kinda rough. Our singer bought a new digital mixer and we hadn't even rehearsed w/ it, and I brought out my GR77B for the very 1st time (and also put a brand new set of strings on the night before). I was really wishing we had kept it simple but things got a lot better for sets 2 and 3.

Thats what I thought about the list when I read it over. That it was great. I havent heard several of the songs, but Ive heard of everyone on the list. (Good example is George Benson.)

Id be having to make at least an hour commute, longer in traffic if I get this gig. But I think it'll be worth it if I get. I definatly want it so far.
