Chuck,It just means I want one also. When I saw the basses with the thumbrests posted on this thread it stirred something inside me and I new I wanted one. It's difficult to let these things go when they're done, granted I need the money to survive and build more but it's still hard putting them in a shipping box and seeing FedEx drive away with them.
Chuck,
I had not thought about how difficult it must be to seal these boxes and call for a pick up!! Each of your instruments are a technical and artistic masterpiece, works of art. I think there should be a Thornton fest in Portland, ME annually where owners and "pre-owners" can meet, talk, view, and play your instruments!! But then you could have a joyous reunion with some of your most favorite "children"!
I would bring both of my basses and perhaps I know two other gentleman who would bring several, if not many, guitars!!
I am good with ideas but not with the details after that, but truly would be glad to participate!!
The more people see and play one of your instruments, the more that will want one!! Plus for you, it is like a reunion with your children.Nightman, Carlostito, Sam, you guys are great, it does sound like fun.

Is that a clear pick guard? I love seeing the wood right through it!Yes Nightman, I thought you might like to have consecutive serial numbers so when you told me you were interested in this Cherry Burst I gave it serial #B-031. I love how the burst came out.

Played/hosted a jam this weekend. There were 2 CP Thornton Basses and another 2 CP Thornton guitars. All sounded great and the basses had a nice warm even tone (through my rig, which is great for comparison). Like many folks around here I got the CP itch I'm looking to scratch soon.
#31 is gorgeous.
I don't know what I'm going to do with all of these other basses with my two CP Thornton basses!!!My two jam friends each own CPT guitars. One owns one and the other owns ~30+ guitars and an amazing bass. Chuck what is my friends count up to of delivered guitars?I bet that was a blast seeing and hearing all of those CP Thornton guitars jamming in one place!! I wish there were pictures to share with us.
That #031 is 3 days away from being a NBD for me!!I don't know what I'm going to do with all of these other basses with my two CP Thornton basses!!!
