Crazy ex-girlfriend

Well I already posted a story about my crazy ex and i found it to be quite cathartic so here is the story about how we got engaged...

We started talking about getting married about 6 months after we had moved in together. We looked at rings and I went out and bought a ring after so it would be a surprise. I was going to do it right and take her out on an awesome date and then pop the question. Well as I was leaving the ring place I slid my car into a guard rail (it was winter) so after paying for this ring I now had to pay for my car to get fixed and it pushed my plans back for a bit. Well one night she blows up about something (its funny to me that I can remember the fights but not what they were about) and starts yelling and storming around our apartment. I remember her getting up in my face and screaming "WHY DON'T YOU JUST MAN UP AND HIT ME, THEN I WOULD KNOW YOU AT LEAST HATED ME" Now at this point i realized that I was losing and it would just better if I just stopped engaging her. Sometimes that worked. Well that night it just made it worse. She again got up in my face and started yelling all sorts of crazy stuff like "WHEN YOU LEAVE FOR WORK I'M GOING DRINK A BUNCH OF CLEANING CHEMICALS SO YOU CAN COME HOME AND FIND ME DEAD SINCE THAT'S THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET YOU TO LOVE ME" and " YOU DON'T REALLY WANT TO MARRY ME YOU JUST TOOK ME TO LOOK AT RINGS SO YOU COULD CRUSH ME LATER". The last one hit a nerve and I just looked at her and told her to open my guitar case (the hiding place for the ring). She finds the ring and goes from screaming banshee to adoring Fiance in like 2 mins... and that's how I got engaged to a crazy person...

Wow. That is all too familiar.

Yikes.. did you wind up marrying her?

A friend of mine dated a girl who was suicidal and had a precription drug problem. One night she tried to O.D. and he tried to restrain her and take away her drugs. She called the cops and told them that he hit her and didn't get arrested but she wound up putting a restraining order out on him and a few months later she started harassing him through text. He made the mistake of replying to her and she took him to court for violating the restraining order. So he has the arrests on his record and has been having a hard time finding employment because of it.

I've gotten countless text messages, phone calls and emails from her but I'm taking everyone's above this time and just ignoring them. She wants to meet up again but I'm not going thru that saga again. Some advice a friend told me: The most important 6 inches is between your chin and the top of your head.

If it was a man acting this way towards a women, we wouldn't be joking about it, but women can be just as bad.

Whatever you do, don't engage with her at all - don't talk to her on the phone, email her, text her, and certainly don't see her. She might be harmless, but why take the risk?

Run, don't walk.

I'm loving this thread. No personal stories to add, but this is a pretty entertaining read:

I laughed a quite a bit, but I have to ask: Why are her friends all okay with this? Do crazy girls have crazy friends?

I hope that was your cue to get out.

That behavior where their mood goes from loving to hating in a nanosecond is called "splitting" and is a symptom of borderlines. It is part of their often very black and white thinking, they don't see gray in lots of situations.[/QUOT
This is behavior that get a person hurt or killed. I wouldn't call that border line.

It's my opinion that a person with these issues is insane.

If this was a man we wouldn't be talking bout it because he would have been in jail for along long time.

This is why the op needs to call the cops before HE ends up in jail.

And BTW if a nutter ODs get out of there or you'll be charged.

It is symptoms of a borderline personality and yes they can be extremely dangerous people. Example... Jodi Arias is considered one.

Yes. A friend of mine's ex (they were still together at the time, though) was telling my ex (same status) that she had driven past his place several times the previous day and had even parked down the street to watch his house to see if any other woman came over and that she felt kind of silly and embarrassed about quote, "stalking him". My girl at the time sincerely responded, "Awwww, that's so sweet."

However, I read somewhere that that tattoo thread was a hoax.

Thanks to everyone who shared their stories. I practice what is referred to as "downward social comparison" but haven't been able to lately because I currently hate myself.

I feel much better after reading this. Your stories of whack make me feel better about my own past relationships, but now I have an urge to text the last crazy one I was with. Uh uh. Must resist.
