Crazy ex-girlfriend

So far so good with the recent breakup. She blew up my phone the first few days and threatened to sue me, asked for the money to the hotel room back and then told me she was going to stop eating until I gave her a second chance. I ignored her calls, text messages and emails and she didn't contact me all day today. Hopefully no more drama will unfold from this.

Keep on. She won't starve, trust me. Would you really want her to threaten suicide at the first sign of a disagreement?

"Suicide is the sincerest form of self criticism."

Well you asked for it.

About 4 months after my “proposal” $#!% hit the fan again. She had wanted me to propose again since the first time was less than romantic and I simply just did not have it in me to try again. She brought it up one night after she had been drinking. Now when I say brought it up I mean that she walked in the room screaming at me about it. Lot of yelling happened. She had drunk the last beer and decided that drinking a bottle of cooking sherry would make it all better. I tried to get her to calm down but the usual tricks were not working. She finally screamed “I’m JUST GOING TO GO RAM MY CAR INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AND KILL MYSELF SINCE YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T WANT TO MARRY ME” and then grabbed her keys and headed out to her car and took off. I was seriously worried that she was going to hurt herself or someone else driving like that so I called the cops. She had driven around the block and had just parked her car again when they showed up. The cops took her to her sister’s house for her to cool off.

That was the breaking point for me but I knew I had to plan my exit well or she might really hurt herself or me. So she came back the next day saying how sorry she was blah blah blah and I started planning my escape. The plan was for me to get my stuff and get out of there. The problem was that as crazy as she was I still cared about her and I didn’t want to screw her over. So I waited to till the last month of our lease to move out and I even paid her half of the last month’s rent so that she would have money to find a new place. I told her that I was going to be working on a project in the apartment all day and that it was going to be a surprise and that she could not come home till I called her. She was very excited. I moved my stuff out of our place and into my new place and when it was done I called her mother to come up so she would have someone to watch her and make sure she didn’t do anything stupid. Needless to say that when my ex found out what my “surprise” was she was pissed. She cut off all her hair, repeatedly called me at work wanting to either yell at me or threaten to kill herself, she and her mother threated to sue my family and I for wedding planning costs. I stop taking her phone calls at work so she decided to just show up. One of my co-workers knew what was going on and intercepted her at the door and told her that if she ever set foot on the property again that she would be arrested for trespassing. She stopped trying to call me and stated harassing my mother and my sister. At this point I went to the cop and had a restraining order taken out on her. I guess the threat of being arrested was enough to get her to leave me alone because she stopped trying to contact me after that.

It was one of the lowest parts of my life. I did care about her and it was really hard for me to watch her fall apart like that but in the end it is what needed to happen. I saw her about a year after this went down. I was driving and she pulled up next to my car, gave me the finger and then sped off that was the last time I saw her. She got married shortly after the drive by finger incident. I feel really sorry for that guy.

If this was a man we wouldn't be talking bout it because he would have been in jail for along long time.

That's exactly my point. If a female member had written a similar post about a boyfriend acting this way, I'm betting nobody would be joking about it.

I have a friend whose ex-girlfriend took out a restraining order against him for no reason (other than him breaking up with her), and then kept calling the police saying he was hanging around outside her house. He was arrested twice, and the police threatened to charge him. So he moved in with me for a while, and she tried the same thing again, only this time she actually injured herself and said he assaulted her. I live 80 miles from her house, and he was with me and two other people, so the police finally realised she was lying.

It wasn't funny though; he could have got 6-12 months for violating a restraining order which had no merit in the first place, and another year or two for assault. He was worried has hell. Police tend to take the woman's side in any sort of domestic dispute, so I'd be very careful indeed dealing with anyone who is obviously disturbed. You never know what the hell they might do.

This. Also, in some jurisdictions, the police are *required* to haul somebody in when they're sent to a domestic violence call. They can't just issue warnings and leave; one of the parties is going downtown. Unless there's visible blood or a compelling story, my guess is that it'll be the guy taking the ride in the cruiser.

Why do you need a girlfriend weighing you down when you've got internet access? I can have a twenty minute relationship with a chick, exit the browser, and then go play my bass or get drunk with my friends or something.

But who's going to cook dinner while youre playing your bass? I mean, I guess you can have the "chick" on the other end of the 'net order you a pizza...

Meh. Good luck, Ghandi! ;) :smug:

I had a very short lived relationshiep with a major drama queen. Nothing was good enough for her and a lot of her sentences started with expression "I can't believe that ..."
One night we were riding in style in her Gremlin  through a part of town with a lot of bars called Northbeach. We pulled up Grant Steet, a very narrow street. A group of Hell's Angels had just come out of "The Saloon" and were blocking off the street as they started their Harleys. I had to catch her hand on the way to her horn. She was not happy and complianed bitterly about the situation. I told her if she hit that horn I was leaving and she was on her own. After a few minutes the bikers were on their way and so were we. She spent the rest of the night complaining. I told her things weren't working out and it was over. She was angry and complained about that too as I headed for the door. That was the end of that one.

Sounds like someone straight out of a J.D. Salinger novel...

Nothing like a woman who starts trouble and then expects the man to handle it.

Heh

Eons ago when we were still a young married couple,
we took a walk in a local park, and got accosted by a mugger.
Before I could react, she kneecapped him, put him down and proceeded to give him the boot.......... a lot.
Had to drag her away: she wanted another go at it.
(he was still moving slightly.)
I've seen hard-core bikers do less damage.
I looked at her funny for about a year after that.:hmm:
