Crossdressing and bandmates.

I see a lot of comments about "cross-dressing as a stage gimmick or act" and doing it to "fly your freak flag". But I don't think that is what the OP was talking about. For most transgenders, this is not something they just do to be different, drawer attention to themselves, or be glamorous. They do this because it is truly how they see themselves and need to express themselves. Just because I wear a dress for a day does not make me a transgender because I still identify as a male heterosexual.
Transgender is not the same thing as cross-dressing. One literally has nothing whatsoever to do with the other. Read up on it. Seriously.

Sadly, it is not that a certain group simply wants me to tolerate (and ignore) their existence. I've done that for decades. No, I am now to be shamed for not also BELIEVING that it is acceptable within my moral standards. It's ok though, since one has to respect the opinion of the "shamer" for it to have an impact.
I'm sorry, Rob...I had no idea that roving bands of gay people were pulling guns on you and forcing you to have sex with guys.

Think of it this way: Your local judge tolerates massive amounts of petty and not so petty crime to take place in your neighborhood. Does it make sense to be intolerant of his tolerance?
So you're comparing being gay to being a crime...oh wait, hang on...it used to be, thanks to people who think that because 'our Founding Fathers said we could say whatever we want!' it's fine to be rude and snarky, and get annoyed when people point out your intolerance for something which: A) doesn't affect you and B) the vast majority seem to think is okay, because, well, thete is nothing wrong with it.

No, in my case it has to do with my religious freedom and my business.
Dang, I can't unwatch. I'm still getting notifications. :(
Where in the Bible does it say anything about transgenderism being bad? Dude, if PAKISTAN can allow transgender weddings (because apparently there is no mention of transgender people in the Qu'ran, the Bible, or Hadiths) then I think you, as a Christian in a 1st world country, can see that actually you not being accepting of transgenderism is nothing to do with your religion, it's to do with your own bigotry.

No. I was not taliking about homosexuals. I was not talking about speeders. I was not talking about plumbers.

I was talking about the concept of tolerance and intolerance and how they are applied in general. ;)

That's certainly not how it came across. However, no, because crime, for the most part, is detrimental to society, especially vast amounts of crime. Homosexuality is not.

Your religious freedom ends where someone else's begins. Bake the damn cake, take the money, and go pray away the gay :D
I don't bake cakes.
But it brings up an interesting thought.

What do you mean by "bad"?

I can not answer your questions as it would violate the site rules.

Aaaaaand that's exactly why I think the Christian couple being fined for refusing to bake a cake is stupid. However, I think it's absolutely fine for everyone to boycott them, protest outside of their building, and do whatever they can (within the law) to put them out of business. But it isn't the government's responsibility to dictate what businesses can and can't do in terms of choosing who to serve to.

Again, I was really talking about the meaning of words and how they are applied selectively. I thought it was pretty funny, about 35 years ago, when the mayor of Seattle talked about their new "Voluntary, mandatory busing" program. :D

Words and their usage is a hobby of mine. Often times when discussing subject all over the internet I see people on both sides using the same word and getting all confused and agitated. It's because they both mean something different when they use it and neither is getting it.

It's why I like to sort of make sure the words are being applied similarly by all sides of a discussion and if not, point it out.

When I say "gay", I mean happy. It is all I mean. I have other words for things other people may apply the word to - More "descriptive" words that make it very clear what I am talking about.

And this is true for many subjects. It's why I always get a twitch when I see someone say "I could care less". ;)

It has to do with certain bands having a look and everyone looking like they're in the same band. Violate that look and you stand between me and my money

Bang on the money, JimmyM. I would expect some pretty major fallout were I to show up for a smooth jazz gig dressed like Tina Turner.

Yet, it's different for girls in a strange way. Likely I could show up for a cruise ship performance in a tuxedo. I might get written up but I wouldn't raise any serious eyebrows.

And what, exactly, does that mean, from a first amendment perspective?
It means you are perfectly able to believe what you want but if you have a business, you aren't allowed to discriminate on the basis of color, religion, sexuality, etc. And here we go with the stupid cake and how they felt it was a sin to materially participate in a wedding between gay people, even though they're just baking a stupid cake and not participating at all. That's like a druggist claiming that selling a gay person condoms is materially participating in gay sex. But I do love how you're willing to accept that baking a cake is materially participating in a wedding, yet selling a gun to someone who uses it to murder people isn't materially participating in a murder. Double standard much?

Also, hate speech is not Constitutionally protected, nor have I ever heard of anyone who wanted a racism motif for their wedding, so your little KKK cartoon is lame and N/A. But if I owned a bakery, to be honest, I would bake a cake for a couple who were in the KKK because I'm not materially participating in hate speech. I just would make them find their own little robes and hoods for the couple on top :D
