Ohhh man. I hope I get to see this before you send it out. Please call me once this bass is done.
Don't worry Bobby, I will make sure not to get drool all over it. :smug:

Wilser that looks amazing!!!!!!!!

Peace,
Chris

Looking great Wils! Bobby, you're going to be a happy dude.

I dont know whether or not the CF rods help.. Its just a matter of I've always owned basses that have them so I decided to go with them.

Out of curiosity, why dont you like them?

CF rods add strength without adding the weight of something like steel (cf. Warmoth), but IMHO THE biggest reason to go with CF rods in the neck is to add stability over the years, since CF as a material is not subject to changes in temp & humidity like wood is. If you're still playing this bass in 20-30 years, you'll be glad for them....especially on a set-neck.

The original PU specs change to Nordstrands?

Even the sides of those PU covers look exotic!
What is that, Wenge?

I also meant to mention for Alder, that rear body wood has some nice figuring as well.

yes, the sides of the covers are wenge to match the accent lines. Also, yes, Bobby decided to go with Nordstrands after he played a bass with them. The alder is pretty plain, maybe what you're seeing as figure are the marks from the safe-t-planer from when I was thicknessing the blank.

looks awesome, I have two questions? the fretboard looks really flat, is there any radius? if so, how did you accomplish that? the other question is how thin is the material on the pickup cover?

this is a beautiful bass !!

I'm sure Wilser can answer better.. But, there is no radius on the fretboard at all. Totally flat (ala classical guitar)..

As far as the thickness of the wood on top of the pickup covers, from the pictures, it looks like about 1/8th inch.. Am I close, Wilser?
