I really love being in the studio - it's pretty much my favorite thing in the world. (Well, OK, maybe second favorite thing.) I hope to have some new Vague Assurances tunes for you within a few weeks. The recording is done, but we need to go back one more time for the mixing.

Tat, Boston is a little too far from NY to just pop up there for an evening, tempting as that sounds. I am still trying to line up a Florida trip, which is not a crazy idea at this time of the year anyway.

I wanna go record in that studio. That place looks AMAZING!!!!

Florida's here. Keep me posted on the progress. But we're cold right now. It was in the 20's last night and tonight and barely got up to 50 today.

That's an EBS reverb pedal next to the tuner. I think I'm going to try adding a touch of reverb. It's a jazz gig and the fretless with a little reverb sounds pretty cool. :bassist:

Recorded on our second attempt at that song. We had not tried that song before today.

For a second time out on KOHD, it's not too bad. Bass-ically speaking, you're sounding like you're right where you're supposed to be, IMHO.

Your lead singer is a little pitchy though and it sounds like he's reaching vocally. Is this out of his range or just really new and he's not quite got it nailed yet?

Our lead singer (also the drummer) really is quite good..he just hasn't determined where he needs to be on that song.

Not bad at all. You and PA give me hope. I'll mark one year next week and I'm not that good yet. I can only aspire..... ;)

I believe that we'll be starting to record in the next couple of weeks. The setup is not in that realm, but it should be cool.

We have seven or eight originals ready to go. I'm going to play full drumkit on one cut and play either conga or cajon on the others. I think that I'm going to use one of my vintage Slingerland kits with a 24" bass drum. I'll bring a couple of snare drums along to see which records best for this purpose. Our intent is to record each song as live as possible although we intend on adding our background vocals later.
