Personally, if the school system promises not to pass their values on to my kids and let me do the parenting, I promise to stay out of the music, art, literature, math, and technology classes and let them do the teaching.

And they're doing the baby simulators already? At that age, I'm not sure if it scares them away from having kids or just makes them want one more. I suppose it depends on the girl at that point.

The simulator kept my oldest up nearly all night. She looked worn out this morning when she came downstairs.

I don't know if these things are a deterrent or not. I can only hope that it makes these kids think before they decide to give themselves to some punk teen-aged boy that says that he loves them. My oldest has a pretty good head on her shoulders, so I hope she can make the right decision in that regards.

Okay ladies and gentlemen.....as promised.....

Pics from last night's evening out.

Tom's a super nice guy, and those basses are BAD@$$. I [del]want[/del] need one. Now I just have to figure out how to make it happen.

Tom, thank you for sharing the info on the gig and being such a sweetheart. I'm definitely coming back out to see you guys again.

So I just got back from a "band practice." I got there, rang the doorbell, texted and called the singer and drummer, for 15 minutes. Nobody came to let me in, so I left. Then I started getting texts from the singer complaining that I should've let myself in because the door was unlocked. I've never let myself into his house before without him telling me to beforehand. So, no practice tonight.

When he's sitting on the couch, the deadbolt is locked, but when he's in the basement the house is open? That's...um.....logical?

Sorry to hear you missed your practice and he's fussing.

what's an infant simulator? Is that like a chia pet?

I may have my late night commercials mixed up.

here's where we'll be tomorrow - not playing but mixing the four tunes we recorded over the last six months (talk about slowly but surely), including two originals -

I can't wait to hear them, Chuck. That studio looks far beyond my skill level, but I'd give up my firstborn child to play there anyway. I'm terribly envious - so talk about it liberally please and let me live vicariously through you....okay?

great but nothing's worth firstborn child. :eyebrow:

Cuts teed up, including two originals, one by me. Came out great. I'll make sure you get them sooner than later. Can you PM me an e-mail addy? :hyper:

Tom plays my-style - barefoot. Shoes are for when you can't go barefoot, you know?

Glad to see you survived your birthday. I survived it, too. My youngest daughter's birthday is the 28th...and she passed her last final exam for nursing school on Friday night. Officially, she's now a graduate nurse and only has to pass her state boards to be a full-fledged RN. And yes, I'm having a proud mom moment.

In other news, I played a fund-raiser poker tournament tonight and ended the evening with a highly respectable 4th place finish. It wasn't in the money, but it was still a strong finish from a large and very competitive pool of players.

Consider that this is the firstborn child who begged me for a week, "please take this dog home with you? I don't like it, but I don't have the heart to take it to a shelter because the kids think it's amazing." After being told no at least 100 times, she made arrangements for the grandchildren to "give Mimi the dog as a present" for Christmas. She played dirty pool with that little tactic, and is now up for grabs. ;)

PM headed your way.

Ahhh...well.....I do have a nice selection of nail polish colors that make a regular rotation across my toes and fingers. Tom wasn't wearing any from what I noticed. But then...I was far too busy looking at those lovely, lovely, lovely basses.

Jackie and I are still in Chicago wrapping things up.

We got to meet FM and her husband for a drink last night. They are great people, we had a lot of fun as they are both characters (like us).

I'm shopping for a new bass soon... more details to follow...

I'll check in Monday or Tuesday, I think that we'll be on the road tomorrow.

Glad you made it there okay, Mike. FM's awesome, yes??? I can't wait to get back to Chicago to see her. And then, the two of us are going to haunt Bass Club, then we're going to see the Lakland "factory."

Hope Jackie's holding up okay in all this. She's lucky to have you to lean on. Safe travels on your way home. If you have time, you should detour through to see PA since she's not that far off your route. If you do, please give her hugs for me!
