CWB 15: 15 minutes or bust!

I try to match the bass line when there is something really "important" to the song but if I find something I like better I do that instead. I.e in "Bang A Gong" there isn't that much going on most of the time but I found a riff that I think grooves very well with the song so I play it. I'm slowly acclimating to being comfortable plugging in "what works" as opposed to "how it's written" but that's a hard stretch for me right now. Mostly because I just haven't been playing that long and I'm not sure of myself in that little venture. I think it's really cool when other people can do it, but the magic hasn't clicked yet for me. I'm still hopefully optimistic though. ;)

I set up my little Tascam DR for a room mix and recorded the practice.

Here's the first tune we did for warming up. Sorry for the clams. We were just goofing because it was something to do to loosen up the hands and ears. After going through the tracks I thought it was kind of cool. Definitely not the Summer Time most would recognize :)

Signal for those who might wonder- Modulus VJ>Aggie DB750>Ampeg 410 pretty simple. The cab belongs to another guy that practices there with my drummer. Im not sure of the model but it does ok. Much prefer my BagEnds, but sure makes life easier to plug in my head and go.
Btw, the band is Aries Rising found on the scotjon website.

Cool Tat ;) I had some trouble hearing myself at practices in the past. Now I can hear myself and I cringe at the clams I'm throwing here an there. I'd love to hear your Lakie through my rig. That sucker looks quite nice ;) hope u dig the track

No, not THAT! :p

I bought a Bergantino AE410 from the For Sale forums last week and it's now out for delivery. That's perfect timing, since I'm home today while some additional work gets done on the basement, so I'll also be here when the UPS man arrives.

Having observed FM and how she swoops down on her UPS guy, I think I'll stick to my usual tactics. He might enjoy having HER attack him like that, but I'm guessing he won't enjoy it coming from ME. That's OK, I wouldn't enjoy savaging another guy THAT particular way either. Not that there's anything wrong with that... :D

Anyway, I think I'm going to get some time home alone tonight so I can't wait to get my hands on it and play with it.








The cabinet, people. The new CABINET ..... :eyebrow:

I can't hear you! You're all muffled! Did you say in the bassment? In a cabinet? And you're playing with yourself? Did you suddenly get shy? What makes you think we haven't installed cameras in the cabinet?

Well played, Dave, well played. You do know those were just decoys now, right? And the reason you're muffled is because the door is now locked from the outside. And pretty soon, you'll be on a truck headed for........my special place. :smug:

Hard to read what you typed. It's really dark in here and the door seems to be stuck. And I ... I sense ..... motion ...... :confused:
