Well, you really should poke your head in more often. :p

The silver boots rock! I have a serious appreciation that you coordinated the laces and the pick guard. Nicely done! :D

I'm sure you could totally rock those boots without a skirt too. :D

He just rang me up, comp'd my Monster, and said, "I hope your evening gets better than it has been." I might could have hugged him if I hadn't been in such a horrid mood.

The "Don't know how" can be remedied, at least in the tire changing department. It's called - RTFM. Read The ******* Manual!!


Anyways..

Supposedly I get my new cabinet on Thursday (which happens to be my birthday) and Friday I am wrapping myself in cowhide and riding as fast as I can. I'm pretty excited!

The "don't know how" can be remedied a LOT of ways. I grew up on a farm and wasn't allowed to get a license until I knew how to do a bunch of stuff (change oil, check oil, add water, change tires, fix a belt.....etc.) that wasn't typical girl stuff. It never killed me. It did shorten my tolerance for people who don't know how.

I commend those who had you learn those things prior to your being able to get a license. I wish more people would do that.
My girls will know how to change/check oil, add coolant, and change a flat before they learn to drive. Changing belts, hoses, and spark plugs have become a royal pain the arse, though.

Tell me about that.....changing headlight bulbs is even a nightmare. I had to take the whole front grill off my Trailblazer to change the headlight bulbs in January. That was absolutely ridiculous - 23 clips that had to be popped out before it would come off.

I don't go to Open Mike much any more but I was at Main Street Music in East Greenwich. In comes Darcy Disa (Disa means [SAETA] or 'pretty' in Icelandic) and she is paying for some lessons. I ask when she is hosting again (because she was realy nice to me that last time and she said May 5). Then she threw down the gauntlet, and said another 12 string guy wanted the 12 mantle.

Ok, guess I have to up the game and bring a few new songs this time. Maybe not all the crap the acoustic guys play, maybe some killer tunes with original takes on them.
I am thinking about working a few of these tunes to the point I can take them out.

hey Thor - do you have any gigs of any kind coming up? I have to get up to Stonington CT to get some work done at Upton Bass on one of my uprights. It's enough of a trip to stay over in the area, and I know Warwick is a short hop from Stonington. Or, it could just be an excuse to get a drink or something. A Thursday or Friday night would be ideal, and I'd drop the bass at Upton first thing the next morning. They're great people, by the way, and if you like uprights their shop is heaven.

Next gig on the roster is 16 June. The core band for this just reformed. It was a Thursday jam at my buddy's music shop by the Warwick Mall. We had a big blowout come to haysus discussion about trying to get the material worked out for the gig and now we decided starting next week to 'close' the jam and make it a rehearsal session instead.

Any Thursday you can make it up, you are welcome. Or, if Friday is better, I could meet you Friday night for a beer. or I could take a ride to Stonington on a Sat morning. An Upton visit is on my punch list. I have met one of the guys at a jam, but never been to the shop. I have heard good things, but I won't pretend to be remotely capable of playing the DB.

I live in Jamestown btw which is near Newport. You can email me at Thor1974 at Cox dot net if you get it on your schedule. Also we are staring work on a spring NE GTG for May, see the GTG forum. Possibly May 26. Another 12 miles up 295 from Warwick in Smithfield possibly.
