CWB 16: Taking Canada

I have to work on Tuesday so I can't hang out during the day, but if you don't work Tuesday and want to come and then go back next day, I'll swap my king for a double queen and you can stay with me.

FM, you'd be welcome to stay at my house also. Or, I could come and stay with the two of you in Tat's hotel. A CWB sleep-over. Imagine the possibilities... :D

Hopefully things improve this time. Did the first set fall out maybe (they normally do after some time anyway) or maybe weren't put in very well the first time? Anyway, glad this went well. :)

Basses are great that way. And who wouldn't be happy with a lot of attention from you? :D

Ooooooooo, haven't seen much of that world class pout around here in a long time! Just thinking about it makes me want to cave in on something. Anything. Just ... yes, fine .... whatever you want! :D

Whatever I want, huh? I think I want you to come be our man-slave for our three-way CWB sleep-over. ;)

Thanks for understanding. So is your dohickey still marking territory on your leg?

Yes it is. I've found the problem, now I just need to acquire the parts and get it done. Sadly, it means that I will be driving to work vs riding. My wife has been commuting on her bike since the weather has gotten nicer.

I'm confused. Your dohickey is leaking so your wife has to ride her bike instead?

All packed, heading for Logan Airport in 2 hours. Will be in Capetown RSA by 3PM tomorrow, EST.

See ya guys after the 21st unless I find an errant computer connection and some time. Sat and Sunday we will be at sea on a freezer trawler, so totally out of touch.

It's all good, the fish from my packer, I & J Fishing in Capetown is all out of a MSC certified sustainable fishery.

I also found a music store in Capetown, Marshall Music that promises to take good care of me.

I took the dohickey apart this afternoon.

Pretty obvious (to me) where it was leaking. It's the right side of the piston for those curious.

did you break the head bolts loose with a torque wrench? If so, what were your numbers?

For those who do not know the trick, always take motorcycle heads loose with the old two bar style torque wrench. You can tell if a head is warped or not by a bolt being tighter or looser than the rest... A loose bolt means it has gotten too hot and stretched the bolt. Too tight means the head has let loose to the point where coolant hit the bolt, and shrunk it

No, I didn't use a beam-type torque wrench to break the bolts loose. I don't own one, and I am not about to use my expensive clicker-type torque wrenches to break bolts loose. The head isn't warped (I've already checked that via machinist straight edge and feeler gauges). The engine never overheated.

I definitely have a bolt tighter than the rest...

Because I read this about 30 times and can't stop giggling. :D
