Lol, kissed one about 34 years ago, she's still hanging around.

Breaking News, we went to Nordstrom's today, we got to check out the ladies shoe dept.

You know that was a good time! :p

Happy new year to all of you.

I have a sub handling my gig tonight.

Jackie is trying to drag me out for a bit to have a drink with friends. I'm not exactly Mr Festive.

I know it's hard, but you have to give yourself permission to exist somewhat normally. Not thinking about 'real life' for awhile doesn't mean it won't all still exist if you let yourself have a little fun for a few hours and then come back to it. :)

Did Mrs Thor get any "FMP"s while you were there?

(FMP stands for finely made pumps... for those of you with your minds in the gutter.)

Heh.

She saw some wine red ones she liked, but when I offered to buy them she bailed.

The ones liked she said "I can't really walk in those, I will fall down...'

'I never intended them to to be for use outside the bedroom.' I said.

At the same time I was thinking, 'Good that way you can't get away, and I won't have to stun you...'

Guess I have picked up some interesting thoughts here.

I did tell her that I had a good time perving on the shoes, as I was imagining her nude wearing only those.

Bought her lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe so I am ahead for the day so far.

Or rather, closed out the year well.

Drummerman, good to see you back, it's nice to have you back in the orbit of some of your well, rather new friends. But it's nice to be around people who care about you.

I an hour and a half closeted with an acoustic guitar in the downstairs bathroom playing the Paul Simon CD,
30 mins on 'you can call me al' in F and Graceland for about 45 mins. I can do this out if I have a drummer who can do a shuffle and not get off time. 1-2 1-2. The beat is critical to the song, as much of it is syncopated and the beat has to be right on. I will give it more work to see if I can do it without a drummer, but it loses a lot as far as I can tell.

Resolutions:

Lose weight - lost 7 lbs before the holidays, probably got that back, but need to stay on it.

Spend more time developing my own musical skills and musical life. PA said to me I was a good leader. In my mind, I have a ton of work to do in integrating successfully with other musicians. OTOH, not all the craziness is brought by me.

Take more time for myself. I have realized I have a weird funny habit. On work days I wear black over the calf crew socks. On my days off I wear white over the calf crew socks. I do this without thinking about it but about a week ago I realized this had become some kind of habit.
I guess I want more white sock days.Weird metaphor, but there it is.

I am trying to figure out a way to work 6 weeks in Iceland mid -August thru mid-Sept working 9-6 daily M-F, and taking the weekends for some walkabout.

'With my guitar and a hat full of pennies.' BassGen will get that reference.

Like heading for the hinterland with nothing but my @$$ and a 12string walking down the road, be interesting to see where that ends up. I got the boss at the Xmas party, he says as long as the phone works, he doesn't care. Not sure how Mrs T-God is gonna feel about it. I was going to go alone, as I can no longer retire and just got to keep working to pay bills. That would get me a venue where I could work and get a few w/e's vaca. Just a thought... probably never happen. But I have been thinking about it a lot. A real lot. If I can get a cheap room in Reykjavik, it's almost doable.

If I ever make it to Rhode Island, we'll have to play that. I LOVE shuffles!

FM, I'm back. I just didn't need a bunch of drunks asking me questions about it in a crowded bar.

I love you man, any time any TIME bro.

I don't know if you saw that Mr Fantasy link. Listen to it, it's just raw energy. I looked the bassist back up, Jef fKahn. Had a great career in many ways, self destructive in so many others.

His bass lines on that particular song are a textbook example of the use of approach notes.

His history of drug use, and his bad influence on Jerry Garcia, were things I never knew about. Jeff died from a heroin OD.

Too bad, as he was a talented artist.

I also want to mention as the New Year starts that I still miss my college roommate and friend,
H. Dwight Wesley, MD Col USAF, whom I lost in 1985 to depression and suicide. He brought me back to music after I had given it up and gave me a gift that has warmed and sustained me for a lifetime through the good and the bad. I miss you every day, and most of that music in my head is for you. I still have the tapes of the jams from the early 70's at Pembroke Field House in Providence and that's why I still keep a working reel to reel. So they will never die. You may be dead, but your music lives on and 27 years after, I can still play the old songs. Rest in peace my old friend. My journey will be over soon enough.

Well, New Years is a time of reflection and hope.
I hope this year will be better in many ways.

I hope your new year brings happiness and freedom.
Freedom from worry and pain, freedom to express and be yourself, freedom to hear the sounds, freedom to make some music of your own.
