Just curious, can any of you hear a clean-tone difference with the MBD-2’s buffered bypass in your signal chain, compared to when the pedal isn’t in the chain? I’ve tried a few buffered bypass pedals, that I didn’t like what they did to my clean tone.

I don't like my tone as much when it's turned off
But, to answer you question, I don't hear any difference.

I was waiting for someone else to respond but I don't think there would be any difference audibly unless your original signal had some high-end loss that the buffer fixes.

If I had one dirt pedal to cover everything from SVTesque grind to sub octave synthfuzz duty, can the MBD-2 do it all, at least in a pinch? The versatility and form factor are the biggest selling points, but maybe asking for one dirt pedal to cover everything is too much.

It's good enough.

I have 20+ dirt pedals and the MBD-2 is the most versatile of the bunch and has the widest range.

I sold my MBD1 when I downsized to a smaller board.

I’m very much regretting that decision.

I’ll be buying an MBD2 to replace it this week.

I’ve got some great sounding drives dialed in on my HX Effects, but nothing can do what that pedal does.

The MBD1 is why i got rid of a lot of pedals, it just works and sounds bloody awesome

I got one to see if it lived up to the hype and it's one of those rare cases where it exceeded the hype for me. The biggest problem with it is choosing how you want to set it. If it had presets....O...M....G

Or just a 2 stage one would be awesome.
I bring it up here from time-to-time.
Two stackable MBD's in one enclosure, with a separate footswitch for each would be bonkers.

I'm sure others have tried this already, but here it goes....

I tried a new approach to getting a drive/dirt tone out of the MBD-2 today.

Rather than dial in the dirt, and "thicken" it with the clean or depth knob, I tried a different angle.


First, I dialed up the clean, to act as my "base" tone.
Then, I adjusted the dirt to be bright and thinner, then blend it into the core tone.

It gave a nice flavour compared to my usual approach to the MBD.
