Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

You could just buy 2

But that is absolutely no fun. :roflmao::laugh::roflmao:

I realize you're probably just messing around but there are a few reasons it would be better than two.
1. Save pedalboard real-estate
2. Less materials used, one larger enclosure probably takes less metal and all the resources required to manufacture rather than two (even two MBD-2 sized ones maybe). Less packaging for shipping too
3. Two less jacks on the enclosure (also means a few less cables)
4. Only one plug needed for power
5. It would just be cool

@whoismarykelly and I did some tests in this arena and the results suggest selecting between two MBD channels would work best since there are so many interdependent variables in the circuit.

whether or not I'm opposed to the idea be warned it will be expensive and it will be many moons from now. But if you'd like to see it someday be patient.

You just burned a hole in some wallets (including mine) by not saying no. We bass players can wait for the promised land

One MBD to rule them all...

I will vouch for the fact that owning 2 is awesome. I have the internal boost trim maxed on them. All I have to do is dig in for heavy dirt, and play light for subtle t00b sounds. One is run with all the gain down, and the other slams it with some grit and a slight volume boost. Covers alot of ground. I only kick on the muff for insane wall of fuzz noise crap. (My band basically plays doom and hardcore in a high speed blender).

Get 2. You wont be sad.

...and you have them both set pretty similar. I assume you use them stacked more than one vs the other?

Yep, exactly. The one on the left has the switch in the 'up' position and is almost always on (except for a few passages where I need to be really quiet/clean). Then I kick the one on the right on for heavier dirt & distortion. The switch is 'down' on this one. I found the switches in the two different positions gave me all the variety I need.

Agreed - def a fan of the multi-channel configuration rather than stacking two MBDs. Unless perhaps you live exclusively on the low gain preamp-type tones. If you use an MBD at high gain, stacking another one into it doesn't add much benefit.

yeah this for me... I can live with it but stacking goes from my nice grind to too compressed for me... I love that the MBd gets me grind plus deep clear clean blend so no “ultra compressed” like a fuzz would

Well crap!! I didn't know this thread existed..
I absolutely love my MBD2!
I won't lie, after seeing it on so many boards, I checked out the videos online..

I was baffled!! I didn't understand why so many folks would have this pedal, when everything I heard just sounded horrible, to me..

I figured there had to be more to it, so I messaged a few folks that I respect their opinions and knowledge of gear...

With that, one popped up in the classifieds... I scooped it fast and so glad I did...
I tried a couple of samples given to me by the folks I messaged and tweaked from there..
BOOM!!! Found what I'd been wanting in a drive going on forever...

The sound of my bass, just more dirty and gritty.
It's so full, thick and juicy!! And that's with the Depth all the way down, for me..
I don't see me letting go of it, ever
