Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

I have a MBD-2 coming on Monday and I am so excited. I have been wanting one of these since they were released. What are y'all stacking with your MBD? I have a DOD Bi-Fet boost reissue that I am going to be using in conjunction with it running into my Ampeg V4B reissue and 1977 8x10 cab.

Yeah, the bifet boost works wonderfully with the MBD. It works wonderfully with almost anything actually ;)

Got a chance to spend some time with the VFB and GMP.

The VFB is angry!
Less "polished/sccoped" sounding, much more raw and mid-forward. Less low-end overall. But, I feel like it would have no problem being heard in a mix.

The GMP is definitely in the realm of the MBD, but the grit just feels more "gritty/dirty".
Very cool pedal.
Samples please!

@father of fires

A couple questions about the VFB and GMP.

The ultra-lo control on the VFB is super subtle, and doesn't add that massive low-end like the depth control of the MBD. Is this normal?

For the GMP, it has an overall very deep tone, like an MBD with the depth control turned up. Was a low-end boost an inherent part of this design?

TIA.

The V4B low control was supposed to be more of a subtle rumble control like a HPF. I don't think it's a very strong control.

The GMP has a fixed depth control. I don't remember where it's at but its no more than noon on the typical depth control. The GMP can get more mids than an MBD so the amount of bass was on the heavy side to balance it out.

They are both fun takes on the MBD circuit but needed some more work I suppose to make them each stand out on their own.

I finally got an MDB-2 last week, could not resist 25% off at Prymaxe :)

Really liking it so far through headphones but Wednesday is band practice so we will see more then!

I run into a Broughton Fliptop Boost first, then into whatever Dist/OD pedal I decide will stay. Right now on the board is the MBD-2, GUP Tech Bass Bone, Darkglass Vintage, and Darkglass Alpha Omega..then into a Sushi Box Particle Acellerator tube preamp. It's very hard to choose between these pedals but the size and top jacks give the MBD-2 and GUP an advantage!

Finally getting the band back. We got a gig in September. I’m thinking I need a 2nd MBD-2. Any of y’all wanna trade for a sexy ass Curmudgeon? View attachment 4334930
Honestly, I like running my MBD-2 into my Curmudgeon more than I like either individually. Judging by what I can see of your MBD-2 there, I set mine similarly, then run the Curmudgeon with gain around 10:00, switch down.

Tried every setting imaginable. A second MBD is my next option. Nothing against the Curmudgeon, it’s a great pedal, just not the tone I’m needing atm.
