Damnation Audio Fan/Appreciation Thread

Interesting observation tonight.

I've A/B'd the MBD-1 and MBD2 before, but with my G&L L-1000 and Kiloton. They sounded pretty close.

However, I tried it with my L-2000, trying to set it up similarly, and noticed that the Tookay is actually overdriving the clean side.
So, it adds this low-mid thickness, that isn't present on the 2, as the 2 handles the high output much better.

Simple question : the Bloop, is it really a game changer?

One popped up in the used market, which is rare on the side of the Atlantic...

It was for me for a while. Then I started adding digital brains and modelers to my boards, and the Bloop, well, it just didn't like to work with that setup. For me. I've seen other guys use it with modelers and they like it. I had a v1 too btw. There is a newer ver out now and that may be something that Jeff tweaked to phase better with more things?? Maybe. Not sure. But yeah, for a while, it did change the game for me.

My MBD1 is still my favorite dirt pedal. I use it primarily for low gain but it also works great chained with the AO in front. I haven’t felt a need to change this config for a long time.

Oh, no idea. I needed a boost and remembered this one being hilarious, so I finally had a use for one and got it. Is he making more?
Idk if he’s going to make more, there was a post that said stay tuned for a new boost design next year.
I was on the fence because while I mostly play tube amps, I’m starting to be more of a solid state preamp into solid state power amp kind of person. I loved the demo vid that got posted of it though, nice and crunchy.

Well I'm sure whatever he comes up with will be great. I liked that he's worked directly with Jeff and had experience stacking it with the MBD. I feed it into the MBD, which is always on. I usually use GK amps and at the practice space use an Ampeg B15. It sounds great so far with everything.
