So the Curmudgeon has no actual filtering beyond a low pass at 7kHz and the depth switch cutting at 400Hz. The tone control lets you cut some additional highs as needed. So like a Rat and other simple drive and fuzz pedals you would need to use your amps EQ to dial it to taste. I was aiming for a very specific sound akin to this:
Dixie Dave uses a bottle of Robitussin, a P Bass with rusty strings, a pair of dimed Sunn Coliseums, and 2 ea. 2x15's.
If it doesn't fit in your mix it might not be a good fit for that project. Don't be afraid to tweak your amp. There are no added mids. I just didn't remove any. Though I'm an always-on pedal guy so I don't really need to turn stuff on or off.
