I have some that go on and some that go off - but yes if a few go on then that’s a good sign everything is at least half working (before testing sound comes through the pedals :) )

@father of fires I’ve had around 12 pedals as the biggest of my boards and it’s never bothered me…

Also and I say this with full disclosure: As a player, I've never used large pedal boards so when designing pedals I didn't have the life experience to know it would be problematic for some users.

I don't recall Boss pedals turning on automatically as their default state, but I admittedly never used many. For what it's worth, my Boss tuner isn't in "tuning mode" as a default - I have to turn it on to tune. But since that mutes the signal, I could see why that may be backwards from other pedals... I had kinda assumed it was likely something to do with the idea of "why would you turn this off?", but I definitely like different tones and don't typically stack, so I want pedals either off or remembering their previous state.

All of my pedals? Nope, definitely don't do that. Can't say I've seen anyone who does that, but I'm also not looking around for that either...

Lol. I've never had a problem with switching the MBD2 off/on

Btw, the Spite Box is a KILLER fuzz. So much grindy texture. Its got some clang that works great for heavy riffing. The crossover distortion/upper octave brings the nasty, but it can also be dialed in for searing and cutting top end. Slays in the mix. Adds some sauce to phasers and filters too. Jeff and Dave did an awesome job with this one...

Not the only one. This is standard practice for me before all gigs, and I do it before most rehearsals too. I wouldn't start a gig without checking my amp or bass - not sure why pedals would be any different, but maybe we're in the minority?

Not sure why you need it to extend past 4K. Even some of the best drivers only have a useable range around 4-5K. And the bass guitar itself typically reproduces harmonic content up to 4K. In every instance distortion sounds better without a tweeter to my ears. You play a lot of clean slap where you feel the need for a higher frequency? Just curious.

It's not a zero-sum game. Both conversations can co-exist. And seeing as the power-up conversation has been respectful, I think it's fine to let it continue. I mean, this is the thread dedication to Damnation Audio in a forum dedicated to talking about bass. Seems like the appropriate environment for such a conversation lol

my point, that’s been addressed already numerous times in this thread. I didn’t see the point to beat a dead horse. And Jeff’s given his input a few times. But if you want to keep beating it, be my guest buddy ;)

I use an aluminum neck & I really like the harmonic content that it provides in the treble range. Also I prefer fuzz with a tweeter. Different strokes :cigar:
