Thank you everyone! Yeah we actually did knock a non-breakable over after we recorded the audio. I wish the MBD was a bit louder in the mix (it usually is live) but the tone is there....oh the tone is there!
Still loving my MBD2 over here, though for a while I had relegated it to full blown bass distortion for a single song in my cover band's set. I had rack mounted my pedalboard because was only using a few pedals, but now that I'm building the board again due to buying a new bass wah, it's time to get the MBD2 set up for always on duty. Plus I just bought a Curmudgeon 2 off Reverb for the real nasty stuff.

I just got an MBD-3 this week. Loving the sounds I'm getting out of it so far! I've also been thinking about using it as an always-on pedal for some lower gain saturation and then using the boost side as my full distortion sound. Does anyone else run it like this?
The other option I'm thinking about is putting a Spaceman Saturn VI in front of the MBD. I think they might play well together.
I bought from here a MBD-2 just a few weeks ago and I am in the process to get a second one again from the Classified. I love this pedal I think!!!
I can confirm that the Saturn VI is very nice in front of the MBD-2. I imagine it would do just as well in front of the MBD.
My MBD2 was killing it on the last gig. First time using it live as a higher gain drive. Just wonderful. Boosting it with a Jive or DCX Bass (or both) brought so many flavors of dirt, it's the best gain staging I've ever had on my board.
Yeah, I run an empress comp and Paraeq deluxe + MBD + Jad Freer Capo as my always on (MBD is off if I need to be more "clean") core tone, then I use the boost for some sections or pop the Russian big muff or longsword on for more dirt textures.
I could probably trim things down and be more than happy with just the capo and MBD, but why not go overboard? lol

Does anyone have a digital copy or even just a picture of the old MBD2 sample settings? Can't find mine, or a copy online. I've been tinkering and, I remember there were some very cool tones there.
The MBD2 has stealthy become my always on, core tone over the last couple years or so...the first dirt to replace Darkglass in my recipe in about 10 years. Makes me want an MBD3 just to mess with, and so I can have an always on and an almost fuzz sound ready to go without twiddling knobs...
ATK800 into an MBD2. Nothing I can't do with that combo.

I love the new contoured clean.
Overall it sounds great.
I was excited about the boost side, but for me, it's not my bag.
Having owned two versions of the 1, multiples of the 2, and borrowing the 3 right now.
If I had my "perfect" MBD, it would be the small size of the 2, the fixed tone center of the 3, a switch for the clean between OG and Contoured, depth would be gone, and an external control for the input gain.
But that's just me.

The boost control is your external control for the preamp gain FWIW. We just made that circuit a bit more powerful and made it switchable.
