If that is the case, I am going to throw it before the MBD, and use the MBD to brighten it up. My hope is that I can run them the other way around though.That is just awesome. Hey John, how is the tone of the pedal? Not having any EQ option doesn't hurt the performance of the pedal?? I guess I'm worried about it being to dark and won't be able to brighten it up.
I can't wait to get mine built. I'm gonna have a buddy build mine. Excite

The range of the gain on the distortion side allows for lighter brighter tones or turn it up for darker heavier tones. Like a rat.
The lack of EQ is so you can EQ it at your amp instead if me complicating the build by adding a bunch of EQ options that may not be what the user likes.
It's meant to give you some additional dirt on your tone without heavily altering your sound.

Ah ok, cool. I can dig that. I like that idea. At first I wasn't sure that I liked it. But it is a great idea when you explain it. Sorry if I missed that before if you mentioned it already.

it sounds awesome, and it's definitely not too dark. the drive side (on the left) is is like a built-in bloop but capable of getting moderately dirty if you want it to. and the distortion side (the rat side) can go from nearly 100% clean to heavy distortion. overall, it's not a super bright sounding pedal but i easily has enough top end for me. you can use it for a slightly overdriven tone to a heavy distortion but it remains very punchy.

Also if I make it a production model @johnk_10 has given me some ideas for the graphics!

There is an option for me to build the kit. It just won't have pretty graphics.

Thanks Jeff... My MBD-1 is holding down about 70% of my dirt needs. So, I'll wait to see if you'll go into production so I can have pretty graphics.
BTW, the MBD-1 is performing flawlessly now.

Same here. I am now stacking the MBD with the X7 when I need more hair. That's been my 1-2 punch recently. It's like they were meant to be together.
The MBD-1 and X7 are my go to dirt pedals these days. Don’t really need much else.
Unless I need some really raw and rippin stuff, I have the blower box or rat tail for that, or some serious fuzz, muff for that, I only use the X7 and MBD. With this newer band, I'm all about those 2.
I’ve got an Iron Pig and Wizard Fuzz on the shelf for specialty applications.
So I just sold my AOU, and I'm now down to MBD-1 and X7. I've always loved the B7K color, as an almost-clean, always-on preamp. But with the two I already have, does it seem superfluous to also get a B7K also?
I know I still run my B7KU on at all times but I no longer run the dirty side clean. It's just there for added EQ and some boost. And a good DI. So in my case, I could probably get rid of it. But it's been there so long I just don't see it leaving. But it does add it's thing so there's that.
Not superfluous. The X7 is an amazing pedal, but doesn't have the same high-end sizzle as the B7K. One of my favorite combos is MBD1 into B7K. I tend to use my multiband distortions, X7 included, by themselves...mostly because I prefer to set them up for pretty intense tones.
I usually set my B7K for low-gain sizzle, and stack the MBD1 or other dirt in front of it for heavier tones... running B7K last keeps the sizzle. But that's just me.
