I got an amazing tone trying the MBD into the X7. But the X7 takes over the signal a bit while the MBD is a bit more subtle, so I’ll try reversing them.

Do you have any feelings on the B7K v1/v2 and Ultra vs regular? I have the mini OCS so I don’t know if I need the IR.
I run the MBD into the X7. The MBD is the first dirt pedal in my dirt chain. It goes MBD > blower box > green russian > X7. Then I have the RT and muff in the Bloops loop. And I have all 4 running into Loop 1 on my HXFX. I'm really happy with this setup overall. I may have switched that dirt order now that I think about it but I'm pretty sure that's how it is. I'll confirm later tonight.
I love how they sound together. Even if the gains are set really low. It's a glorious sound!

I would actually like to know how these all differ from one another too. Maybe we should ask this in the DG thread....I was considering going back to the B7K over the ultra. But maybe a v2 B7K is what I need. Hmmmmm....good question @smeet

I believe there are slight differences in tone and dirt level between B7Kv1 and B7KU, but I never tried to quantify them. Bottom line is that they are way more similar than different, so I choose whichever jacks are more appropriate: e.g. when running MBD1, I go Ultra for matching top jacks!
I have not tried B7Kv2, never tried IRs at all and know very little about them. I have the original OCS when I need cab sim.

For the stacking combos I've tried, I always keep my MBD last. I think I commented on this somewhere else, but here are my thoughts again...
Even if I'm not pumping the depth up or adding tons of low end with the MBD, running the glorious, fat MBD drive sounds into another drive pedal always seems to neuter what I love about the MBD. When you run the MBD last last, you get the qualities of whatever drive you put before it with a nice steroidal injection of thickness from the MBD. I don't necessarily understand why it works so well, but the MBD takes other effects extremely well. This is not just for other distortion and drive pedals, either. If you have a gnarly fuzz that maybe cuts like a buzz saw but tightens the lows in the process, run the MBD after. I also like the MBD run on subtle settings after a more mid-range focused filter to fatten that up.
I moved on from DG when I discovered the MBD, never has a pedal made me more satisfied, hence why I am buying everything Jeff makes lol

Well, it's a great time to be a bassist. I've got so many dirt pedals I love, and can't use 'em all: DA, DG, Tech21, Idiotbox, etc. It's gotten to the point where I stress each gig about which dirt to bring.
MBD-1 into B7K might be my favorite stack: MBD brings the roar and the phat, and the B7K sizzles it up. I leave B7K off for classic tones, kick it in for modern. Not saying the MBD can't sound modern, it's just that the B7K is my easy solution for that.

Why not get the best of both worlds!
Right now I have the MBD in the middle, and will run the front or back half - with the MBD always on.

Yeah I hear ya. I can't make that same claim just yet. But it doesn't hit me as hard as it used to these days.
Amen to that man. I used to have 9 dirt pedals between 2 huge a$$ boards. I really did get stressed with playing looking down thinking of what to use. Not saying this was your exp. But I know when I cut it all down to the 4 I use now, its so much more fun and easier to play and write. All I need it a fuzz (muff), OD (MBD), and 2 types of dist (X7 and the blower box or RT). Makes it a lot easier for me. But damn is it tough to choose in today's landscape.
I'm so fickle that I don't even bother with a board: I just pick 2-3 dirts, whatever I feel like using that night. I probably should put together a few small boards to make life easier for myself, and rotate them, but I don't even want to be locked into combinations. Yeah, I'm weird that way.

I've been doing the "Fuzzbass method" lately as well. I leave the big board at home a grab a pedal or two off it and force them to work on their own merit. The big board has more or less turned in a a demo stable for pedals. The master plan is a Nano+ board with 4 or 5 desert island pedals.
