If you don't need DI, maybe you should check out the Alpha-Omicron?
I’ll dig into this option. I like the idea of more tunable EQ, but the Omicron switches may suit me fine. Thanks!

If you don't need DI, maybe you should check out the Alpha-Omicron?
Question... it seems to me that the mod knob on my Alpha Omega doesn't have that much effect on the sound at all (not even with blend knob at max). From the 100% Alpha position to the 12:00 position (half Alpha, half Omega) I can't even notice any difference in the sound at all (or so tiny it's not worth mentioning). Only when I turn it 100% to the Omega side I can hear a small difference, but nothing dramatic, at least not to my ears.
If you check out this Alpha Omega demo video (at 14:30) there's a huge difference in the tone between Alpha and Omega side.
On my Alpha Omega the difference is much less obvious. Is it just me or has anyone else using Alpha Omega got the same feeling about this? Could it be faulty mod pot? It could also be my amp/settings as my clean bass sound is way fatter than this one in the demo video which is quite honky. Thanks!
Well, it is noticable, but as I said, only from 12:00 to 100% Omega side, but still, far from this what I can hear in the video that I posted. Maybe I just need some more time with the pedal (or turn up mids on my amp a bit). The A/O difference is pretty noticeable. If you aren’t hearing it, something is out of sorts. I’ve not heard anyone say anything about the change being subtle as you turn the dial.
Super noticeable in my setup, could be to do with input or amp your heading into?Well, it is noticable, but as I said, only from 12:00 to 100% Omega side, but still, far from this what I can hear in the video that I posted. I'll try that! Thanks!Yeah something seems odd because I've found the difference between the alpha and omega sides to be pretty obvious.
Have you tried different Basses or amps of available ?
Or the DI maybe ?

need a linkOk, so I tried it with my small combo amp and different bass, and I can say the effect of the mod knob was more obvious. Then I also tried to tweak the EQ on my main amp (I set everything flat), and I also got better mod knob response, just still not what I have expected (and heard in some demo videos).
So I have another question (or a small request if you will) just so I can see where I stand with my perception of subtle vs. huge change in sound. Would you guys please just check out this VMT demo video (at 1:30) where this guy is turning the "ERA" knob from min to max. Would you say the change in sound is very subtle or super obvious? Thanks!
Yeah, the Mod knob is not subtle at all: the Omega side has a WAY more midrange at hi gain levels.
This is from NAMM last year with @Darkglass on knob duty
The Alpha and Omega sides? Very different. I keep the knob at about 10:00.ugh that's juicy. Sounds a lot different from clips I've heard of the AOm. Do folks with experience of both find that they're pretty different?

Oh, thanks. Sorry, no experience with the Alpha·Omicron.I think he meant differences between the Alpha·Omega and the Alpha·Omicron
