I had one of those Toneports, but with a lesser software package, that I mainly used for practice. I quite liked it, but I seemed to spend more time tweaking than actually playing.
As has been mentioned before, the default block settings in the Helix and other Line 6 stuff are often "what on earth were they thinking" settings. They were probably designed by guitarists who don't properly understand how bass should be treated. The Anagram, however, even with all parameters set to 12 o'clock, sound great straight away. You could build a perfectly giggable preset with a few blocks all at default settings. That just shows how great Darkglass' designs are.
I really appreciate the clean blend in almost every block, too. Every helix patch I have created has multiple paths, just to retain a clean blend and stop the low end from disappearing.
