Darkglass Anagram Multi FX Announced

That setup is everything I want in terms of bass sounds and the Anagram is the centerpiece of it. I love it!

I’m a little late here, but plan to do this same setup. I’m curious though. Why use both a large DC7 and Crux when just a single smaller and lighter Sol with a couple flex cables would do the job? Curious if there’s a reason for it I might want to consider.

Even a DC7 and a current tripler would get it done. Just thinking out loud in case the reason is that they already own a DC7.

Or even a Sol and a current tripler to drop a little more weight for an even lighter, portable rig. And even have a power port to spare. :)

But yes, I’m guessing the gear was already on hand, otherwise, a DC7 AND a Crux is massive overkill, more expensive, and more weight.

Sure, new preset with nothing, it still flutters slightly…add just a pedal block (new Sansamp or b3k) and the low just flubbs.

Mixer set to factory 0.0db and -12db.

Sounds like if you were to overload a speaker. Comes through headphones and output making the sound when plugged in.

Wondering if I have a dud? Or if I’m a dud. Haha.

I mean, why not both? :D Happens to the best of us. Is this a new unit? What happens if you reinstall the firmware?

Mostly I don’t like the tangle of cables and it keeps the slots free if I expand in the future.

Has anyone here had the opportunity to do an A/B test between the anagram and the fractal FM3 mkII?

I have the Austin buddy bass pack for the FM3 and it basically slays but the options are almost too much for my feeble brain to comprehend, and getting an anagram for a side by side is a bit cost prohibitive right now.

I have an FM9 with the Austin Buddy pack and the anagram. Anagram is better for bass. Bar none. In a mix, you’ll never know the difference but only having what you need and everything being bass centric, makes it so much easier. If you’re doing more than bass I would say keep the FM3, but for small footprint gigging and ease of use the anagram is perfect.

As I plan my Anagram purchase and pedalboard, I worked out the weight difference between a DC7+Crux vs Sol with Flex cables (or current tripler) and the Sol option is almost precisely .5 lb lighter (225 grams). Not an inconsequential weight savings when tossing it in the gigbag on your back trekking through the city.

I don’t like messy cables either, but this doesn’t look too bad, although I’d prefer a single current tripler cable to pretty it up.
