Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

This amp intrigues me. For those who bought it, which speaker cabinet(s) have you gone with? Are you using the Darkglass DG410 or connect to another brand's cabinet? For those who have chosen the DG410, do you enjoy it?
I was literally about to post roughly the same question.

I'm currently eyeing the DG 410 since I can get it for ~1100€. I wanted a Barefaced Big Twin II but it's just too dear. I'd like opinions on other potential cabs for a tight, clear, relatively uncolored sound at 800-1100€. Must handle 800W @ 4 Ohm, give or take some watts.

Anything else I/we should be looking at, other than the GK Neo II, of which I'm already aware?

I use an Ampeg Heritage 410HLF with the MT900. This amp sounds stellar with my cab. I absolutely have to use the tweeter though to properly balance the massive low end my cab creates.

The DG410 is $500 more expensive and weights about 25 more...it was a no brainer for me since I’ve used my 410HLF with other amps with a high degree of success.

i cant believe the amount of people complaining about it not having tubes

does the tone hammer have hammers in its preamp?
does the little subway have a BLT with old English cheese in the Fx send?
does the shuttle Max have a tram or public transport devices in the speaker jack?
is a warwick thumb bass made of thumbs?
is an Ampeg made of clothesline pegs?
does a SVT contain any stone Venetian tiles?
Do planet wave cables contain planets or its inhabitants?

how much bass can a talkbass talk if a talkbass couldn't talk bass????
This poopie cracks me up to no end!

Had my eye on the M900 for some time now. Didn't think I would need the Microtubes side of the amp and thought the silver finished model would be hard to read for my fuzzy vision. After getting a new cabinet I tried my hardest not to buy a new amp but just couldn't resist. Ended up with a Medusa M900. Ordered new so I could return in case I didn't like it. Based on research it sounded like it had a pretty great clean tone. I had and liked the Vintage MicroTubes pedal and figured it would be helpful sometimes.

Very impressed so far. The build quality is great. Really a solid piece. Very well built solid cabinet. The knobs turn smooth with a little and very consistent resistance. Switches are all stout and firm. Really better build quality than any other similar priced amps I've had hands on. Have really only got to crank it up once but have used several times for lower volume rehearsals with my Bergantino HG310. Also used with my old GB 112 with a deltalite. The clean side sounds wonderful! Seriously. I'd be happy with just that. I was wrong about the VMT. I much prefer the B3K. It actual turns this into a more flexible and powerful version of my GK700. Kind of like the boost knob but so much more. Everything works the way you would expect. Power is plentiful and the volume pot is very linear allowing precise control. Sounds great at low and higher volume.

Have a hard time getting a bad sound out of this amp. I'll tweak it because there are a lot of good options and am still getting familiar but unlike some other modern amps I don't struggle to find a sound I like. Have yet to play a gig with it but in a loud basement with 2 guitars, Keys, Horn, Drums and percussion everything went smooth. A familiar space and a tough one sound wise.

This little setup should really cover just about anything I would need for the foreseeable future. and if I want to add (and can afford) another HG310 It can handle the 3 ohm load. Look forward to getting to know it better. Oh and yes Medusa looks pretty badass.:bassist:

I realize I am late to the game on the Darkglass Microtubes 900 amp, but all I can say is wow! This is a very cool little amp, I can not believe the range of tones I can get out of this beast.....I thought I was happy with my Peavey MiniMega.

Agree. I'm pretty amazed by mine. Really easy to get a great sound and then many usable sounds beyond that. I have tried many great amps where it took some time to find one sound I liked.

Glad I got a Medusa before they moved on to the new design.

My only regret is that I can’t justify getting a v2. :D

I hear ya. I'm not a big fan of sliders but do appreciate how easy it is to see. Really curious to hear the Alpha Omega.

Congratulations. The Medusa looks pretty sweet!

Thanks! I mainly bought because it is black and easier to see the controls (my eyes aren't the greatest anymore). I will say I remember seeing Clash of The Titans (original claymation version) in the theater as a kid and being somewhat terrified of Medusa. So she left an early mark. It is pretty cool to look down and see.
