Nope...I asked them last week about it. Shows expected release on the 10th, which I knew would be later since Spencer sent them out on that day...but I'm pretty sure it doesn't take 14 days to get from Seattle to New Jersey. They didn't seem to have a clue, but now I notice the pre-orders are closed and you can't add to cart anymore.

Just tried out the VMT Deluxe with my P-bass with roundwounds for the first time and was blown away! In my band I play a Rickenbacker with flatwounds that pairs perfectly with the standard Vintage without the need for much EQ, but it seems it didn't really fit the bill for many TBer's in the same way. I know many folks didn't find the standard Vintage bright enough for more modern stuff, but I think the EQ on the Deluxe really ups the ante.

I'm not a big fan of the VT Bass, but I was able to cop some pretty similar (but more useable IMO) tones by boosting the Bass a fair amount, cutting the Mids a fair amount and leaving the Treble flat- then set the Era to taste (just below noon seemed to work well with my bass- the higher I set the Mid the more I cut the Era). I really dig the interplay between the Treble, Mid, and Era controls- you can boost the Treble and Mid a little more than you might otherwise and then roll down the Era to smooth/shape it to perfection.

I also never blend Clean on my standard Vintage, but with the EQ affecting both the Clean and dirty sides I am finding some really useful tones where the Clean side is actually adding articulation since the Era knob only affects the dirty signal. So you can round out the harsher edges of higher gain sounds with the Era but retain (or even boost) the brightness of your clean tone then blend to taste.

I actually got close to sending the VMT Deluxe back again. Thinking that I'll see how I get by with the B7K only and could always get another VMT Deluxe if I really really missed it. Then I saw that the place I ordered it at (Thomann) raised the price for it by 60 bucks (Euros, mind you) in the meantime. So I guess it's staying (but the non-Deluxe VMT will leave).

I personally wouldn't have a use for both a B7K and Vintage Deluxe on the same board, but I am also admittedly not a huge FX junkie- Minimalism is key for me with pedals. For my uses the Vintage Deluxe does the tones I really worked hard to coax out of my B7K with ease. I wasn't willing to use the B7K as just a preamp to mold my Vintage at its price point. I could see using a B3K paired with a Vintage Deluxe though. Since the Vintage can do subtle tube-tone much better than the B3/7K (in my opinion), I think a B3K would probably be a great heavy drive in front of the Deluxe.

I messaged them yesterday and they said that they should be getting them any day now. Maybe we'll have them by the weekend?

I tend to be about 10 or more years behind in technology, so while I think I have the ability to record clips on my computer finally I am not completely sure how to go about hosting them. I'll give it a shot though within the next couple nights and see what happens. It is about time I learned this particular trick...
