While I was not a fan of his work during his golden years, I grew into an appreciation of his stuff as time went by. Oddly enough, when I think of MTV, back when it was actually Music Television, I think of David Bowie and his videos. Particularly "Let's Dance" and "China Girl".
RIP David, may your music live on in influence, and in the hearts and minds of your fans.
Speaking of "Golden Years"...
David Bowie really is one of the few artists I can think of that whatever the situation I'm in, one of his songs would apply in some form another. His music transcends genre and time.
And "China Girl". Definitely one of the most perfect songs ever written and recorded, IMO.
