We took the opportunity to view the "Bowie" exhibit at the MCA last year. Though it was clearly a very uncritical and positively-curated display, it was still an incredible and eye-opening look at the breadth and depth of his creativity, output and capability for reinvention on his own terms.
The world has lost a true artist.

Rest in Peace.

Wow thank you for the link. Very moving songs and videos in which he embraced his days coming. It was a great farewell to his fans. I always felt he was one of the purest innovators of my time. He always stayed the path of being free thinking, organic and original even in times where that was not understood by the masses.
It's artist like David who I drew inspiration from to stay original and to write and perform music without boundaries. RIP.

I just read the article about his new album over the weekend, but haven't even checked it out yet - it was on my list of things to check out, as in listen to clips on iTunes or Amazon to see if I want to buy. I've always liked DBs stuff. I couldn't believe the news this a.m. on this, like wha wha wha? New record is out - then he dies? What's amazing is that he apparently had been battling cancer for 18 months and nobody knew about it (well, besides his family of course). News like this always leaks out somehow, but not this.
