Wow. Me and my ex girlfriend were just speaking of him yesterday as we were discussing Lemmy's passing along with Scott Weiland. I thought is was pretty cool Weiland had the Ziggy stardust thing kinda going on in the seether video. It's freaky how the universe brings these things to you. RIP
RIP Mr Bowie, I really like his work, tonight I am going to sit down with my kids and watch Labyrinth.

Jeez, this makes me feel way too mortal. David Bowie was only seven years older than I am, and I'm a former heavy smoker. What on earth am I doing still here? It's hard to see these giants pass, and it makes me feel like I'm whistling past the graveyard.
The Seventies were a formative decade for me, and Bowie was a seminal influence on my musical education. I was in awe of his complete command of his art. He played in this universe, but was always his own planet. He set new trends as if there were a vacuum which he personally needed to fill. He was an undeniable talent that will not pass this way again. Shine On, you crazy Diamond Dog.

I don't post it solely because David passed away. I used to post it when he was alive and well. I post it because this is beautiful and this is one of the wonderful things he did I want to remember. Rest in peace and music. Tonight I will drown myself in your universe once more.

I was a little scared to say that here, myself, but I do agree. Lemmy changed metal/rock and is/was an icon. Bowie changed music.

Can't believe it I remember hearing Space Oddity for the first time on an AM radio and being absolutely frozen in place that's why I feel so sad when one of my music heros dies because it reminds me of how much I miss those moments maybe they are just for the young? Rest in peace Ziggy Stardust I will miss you.

It's tragic to lose such a great artist. I just keep playing Life on Mars over and over. This is really depressing.

Devastating and unanticipated news. What an amazing and fearless artist. The range of his work is breathtaking - I don't own a lot of his work, but whenever hearing one of the hits on the radio, I've always marveled over his craftsmanship and comprehensive vision of his product, and likely of himself. Have not checked out "Lazarus," but was intrigued to see him continuing his exploration of music and theater - after all, theatricality was a huge part of his music. Just read somewhere that he worked as a mime in his early career - that little fact suddenly explained a whole lot.
