Neck profile shaping is halfway there, I've done enough for today, will be continued tomorrow.

The neck profile shaping is done.

    The volute is also done.

    kLVuGYB.
The heel of the neck still needs to be fine-tuned to the body shape.

That neck/heel looks pretty sweet, boss.

  5. Thanks.

It still needs a little bit of final sanding, but that can be done once the neck is set in place.

  6. I've been busy for a couple of hours today with sanding the neck and the body, everything is at grain 600 now.

    Q4O47gv.
After sanding I glued the neck to the body, tomorrow I need to do some final sanding in a few of places and drill all the necessary holes, then I can start putting on the Danish oil.

Those heel pics look really, really nice. Clean lines, good color choices.

I couldn't resist the urge tonight, the first two layers of Danish oil are on the back.

  9. All the holes that needed to be drilled beforehand are done.

    0ayh5FR.
Might as well show you the front view after two layers of Danish oil, still at least three layers to go on both sides.

    Leveled the frets.

Next task: fret crowning and polishing.

Ok, if that thing looked any hotter, you'd need to work on it in a special suit.

    I has want.

Frets are crowned and polished, put some furniture oil on the fingerboard.

  13. Wow!!! That is so beautiful! the top has the shimmer of a tiger/cats eye gem or a top quality opal. Also I'm glad you didn't color it,everyone has different tastes but I personally love natural oil finish on figured grain!!

Shielded the pickup cavities and mounted the single bridge parts.

Mounted the tuners and temporarily placed the pickups for this picture.

  17. Just able to make some pictures with the last bit of daylight.

    CtYtCIB. APhAxBc.
Still to do: finish the nut, wiring everything up and do the shielding on the lid of the control cavity.
