Just an update and some FYI for funishing......
Here is the headstock after wet sanding and polishing, I got a beautiful mirror finish on this sucker! I'm as surprised as anyone, lol.

Some people start to wet sand at 400 grit, then 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500, then rubbing compound........
NOT NECESSARY!!!!!!!
I sanded the headstock with 400 (dry) which took off the lettering and clear.
Then I shot 3 coats of Rustoleum "Universal Metallic all surface paint & primer" in Copper Rose.
24 hrs later I shot 4 coats of Rustoleum Acrylic Lacquer about 20 minutes apart.
I let that cure for several days.
Then I wet sanded with 400, next I went right to 2000 then finished up with Turtle Wax clean cut rubbing compound.
That's it!!
It was way easier than I thought wet sanding the Acrylic Lacquer. Took maybe 5 minutes.
Oh, and WARM UP the paint and Laquer in a tub of hot water for 10 minutes before you shoot anything, it flows better and helps a lot to get a nice even coat.
