Dean Q4 w/Bartolinis, $132.99 84% Off

Did anyone ever get one of these?

As posted earlier in the thread I actually did get one of these. I think I got mine before this thread was even created. I ordered at $139 while out of stock and did not expect the order to be filled. A month later I got the shipping notice. It's a very nice bass for the money.

I don't want to get peoples hopes up too much but I came across any an interesting piece of information. I was able to look at an Armadillo (Dean's parent company) inventory sheet with listings of items on their way from overseas. There was a listing for these basses that said they were on their way but none were available for order. Amazon may have a bunch of these reserved. So if you want one keep your order alive. If they don't show up at Amazon by the end of Feb I would give up hope.

Did you see - or did they have - the number of units being shipped? Also, if this is the scenario is correct Amazon would have an anticipated date due in I imagine. But, this is almost too strange. Why would they incur shipping costs only to have them sold here way below cost? It was another thing if they were selling units repossessed from stores here. This other scenario though boggles the mind. Oh well, I mentally have dismissed this. But, zero cost for waiting it out......

Arrrrr!!

I think these are pirate fodder by now.

If you call them, you can lean on them until they access a higher tier of customer service and a manager can actually check out the data on their future inventory delivery dates, etc.

That's where that January 7 date came from, but either they didn't get them as expected or they didn't get enough of them to reach my place in the waiting list, or they just made it up.

They do insist that this is an active item, though, that they're expecting it and it's not just a dead issue their system has forgotten about.

Waiting is free.
Not so much for me, as I've already paid for about 90% of the bass with a gift certificate.

Yeah, right.....

Bongo, to be honest, based on your posts, you're the last person I expected to be taken in by this approach.

Apparently "John" in Mumbai was trained very well on how to blow-off American customers. LOL!!!
