DFW get-together anyone??

wow somebody who owns a dingwall liked my bass! lol. great time guys im glad i get to see what i can look forward to owning when i am older.

I was actually eyeing that upright too, Im jealous :p

Id really love to get into playing an upright, but Im still paying for that Dingwall too lol. You got a cool dad to help you out with all that stuff and bring you to cool places like Saturday. I wish I had gotten into playing at your age, I might have actualy plugged in Saturday if I had lol. I got a late start in life, but hey, thats when I had the money to do it right!

I'm in the very early stages of my bass training (5 weeks) and would be interested in future get togethers (in DFW area) with beginning and experienced bassists alike for practical advice and theory discussions.

I've got a great teacher in the area who believes that I have potential, and I would like to prove him right. Any and all help is appreciated.

Influences: Hugely Geddy Lee of Rush....I would like to some day be in a Rush Tribute band.

I also enjoy listening to and discussing Rush.

Thanks!

I have been jealous of the bass community 'togetherness' that the guys in Atlanta have.

I think this is our opportunity to build that kind of community here in D/FW. I don't know that we need to get together every couple of months or anything, but I think that it would be nice to have at least 2 or 3 get togethers every year.

It's always great to put a face with a name, and it is beneficial to all of us to be exposed to other playing styles, and to people who may come from a different background, whether we are talking about musical influences, or socio-economic backgrounds.

I try to be as well rounded as possible, both musically and as a person. I want to learn from the older generation, but don't want to lose touch with the younger generation. These kinds of events help to facilitate that.

Plus, it is fun to drool over each others gear!:D
