Diamond is BACK baby!!

There are differences between this new pedal and the original. Notably, the Mid dial in addition to the Tilt EQ dial and the addition of a 3-way toggle with option for center point at 500Hz.
I'd like to try this one. However, the Lusithand Alma is a real contender here and fixes much of what people had issues with in regard to the original Diamond. Notably, headroom and parallel compression. https://www.compressorpedalreviews.com/post/lusithand-alma-comp-review

I love my Diamond. I went through a ton of compressors before settling on the original BCP-1, and it's been on all my boards ever since. Absolute tank, in addition to sounding great and having the most intuitive control layout ever.

I was hoping that they would come back strong, and this ticks off all my boxes:
  • It offers useful new features that weren't in V1
  • It's more power supply-friendly
  • The form factor is easier to deal with
  • They didn't go for the "everything has to start at $450" boutique pricing model
Great to have them back, and I might have to trade up!

Love my Diamond, but I play my hotter Stingrays these days and the Diamond "squishes" the tone a bit too much, even at lower settings. Ive been considering switching to the Alma.

Loved the Diamond with some of my basses, but had the same problem: too much squish with my hotter basses even at min Comp. I will confirm that the Alma should solve that problem. Even with dry blend at zero, it behaves MUCH better than the Diamond with hotter basses. Also, I took my hottest bass and cranked the onboard EQ to max (note: I never actually run it that way). Under that extreme condition, the Alma got squishy even at min comp... however mixing in dry signal solved that problem nicely.

I wonder if the new Diamond plays better with hotter basses than the previous ones?

Great to hear, I also love simplicity and as few knobs as possible:) So overall you like the Alma, worth it, etc?
