I'm quite possibly the least violent person you will ever meet, anywhere.
However, I'm right there with mike_v_s on this one. If I walk into my step-daughter's room after hearing a noise in the middle of the night and am confronted with a naked male...let's just say the kid in Florida is lucky, because he left under his own power. He wouldn't have left my house in the same state.
It's got absolutely NOTHING to do with teenagers having sex, I know damn well they either do or will. I was one once too.
The real issue here is a home invasion and potential threat to your child (i.e. rape).
I'm not saying that I would CONDONE such activity in my home, but if my kid comes to me and says "Daddy G (that's what they call me

), look, I really care for (insert name here - gender not an issue either!), and we are going to be intimate (or use whatever euphamism)", my response would not be a knee-jerk "THE HELL YOU ARE!!!". It would be a long discussion, bringing in several elements such as the physical and emotional repercussions of the decision, the dangers, the potential outcomes (teen pregnancy is an ugly experience, I witnessed it up close and personal with my sister at the age of 16, turned out OK, but man...what a mess), and options to minimize the negative outcomes. I know my kids are smart, and will make the right decision for themselves in this situation, because I've helped to raise them to do so, and their mother and "real" dad has as well.
The jack@$$ in the story here, and his little girlfriend, BOTH deserve a buttwhuppin'. The boy, physically (again, for being a potential and unknown threat to my family), the girl not physically, but when I got done with her, she'd probably wish it had been physical.
If the girl in the story hadn't been sneaking around behind daddy's back, this wouldn't have happened. If anyone in the whole story is culpable for damages, it's the daughter, not the dad (which of course brings it back around to dad & mom, as she is a minor, and the parent is responsible for their actions...the real issue here may be poor parenting, but that is not directly the topic).
