Does anyone else notice how a lot of old punk rock stars seem to have a depressing world view?

I almost want to tell them to grow up. Get a haircut. Shave. Go to business college. Read Dale Carnegie - How to win friends and influence people. Just say no to drugs.

The only people who ever thought you were cool are people you wouldn't want to know anyway.

You've bought into a lie and wasted most of your lives. It's not too late to turn your lives around.

Maybe that's a little drastic. But some of these people just need to grow up.

To each their own. I was never a fan of punk rock, but I can say the same about a lot of music genres. Everyone has to make their own choices in life, whether it’s music, literature, art or just how they want to dress. I don’t worry about other’s outlook on life. Life gives everyone their own unique experiences, and that shapes their outlook, and attitude. I have no doubt, that my outlook, and attitude, is not attractive to others, but I still go about my daily life, happy with who I am. I can only live my life. I don’t let other’s attitudes effect mine. That would give me a very dim view, and detract from my own happiness. Just my 2 cents.

Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin was a punk back in his day...:smug:

Depressing world view?

A global pandemic. Global warming. Species of plants and animals going extinct everyday. An extremely polarized USA. 23 trillion dollar USA debt. Really bad social issues. WWIII hanging over our heads for the past 70 years. Need crime, murder, starvation and all the other lovelies be mentioned?

Why would anyone (including aged punk rockers) have a depressing world view?

On the lighter side, if you/we ever get the chance, watch the 3 part documentary titled, THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION (1, 2 and 3). About the LA punk scene back in the 80s. Talk about depressing!

Shots fired, and weird flex, but ok?

Who hurt you?

Also does "depressing" mean realistic? This is a god-tier level whine post.

Does the world actually need more middle-management types trying to manipulate their way to some arbitrary definition of a "successful life?" I'm not sure it does.

But I KNOW the world doesn't need more voices telling artists to give up and get a real job.
Anytime you start to think that the best thing to say is "make less art and make more profit" you're gonna be safe to just kind of crumple that thought up and throw it away.
It's trash.
