Dingwall Owners Club

I have a "white" Dingwall v1 Combustion and I swear I see pink in it. Is this that same color?

Can't wait to get rid of this bass, btw. It was supposed to be a loaner but that guy stopped being a D Dealer and I'm stuck with a pink bass.

It sounds like you have one that was finished in transparent white (not the same as Ducati). Are you able to post a pic?

It doesn't look very pink in the photo, but you can see it.

Worst case you could spend a little extra and get it refinished in a color you do like...

If you were to add a bridge position J pickup to your Super P, would you go FD3, FDV, or Super Fatty? Why? Also considering throwing a Nordstrand 3B in the mix too.
I put a FDV PUP in the bridge position of my SPJ5, IMO it has a bit more presence than the FD3 (still doesn't really work for bridge solo for me). Whatever you put there remember it needs to have the neck winding polarity, it should be neck/bridge/neck polarities.

Thanks, that’s great to know. It will be rare, if ever to be running the bridge pickup solo. If I do these mods, I’ll be having the guys at Nordstrand do the work, so guessing they know about the polarity thing... but will keep in mind for sure.

I have an AlNico V NP-4a and a Big Split on my SJ/P4 that play very nicely together. I've really been digging the AlNico mojo and would second the notion of an FDV at the bridge.

First post in here, new to the world of Dingwall! Just picked up my first Dingwall recently (2006 Super J) :D

I absolutely love my Super J (pic below, or it doesn't exist right? ;)). This is my first firsthand experience with Dingwall basses, though I have admired them from afar for many years. I've just never had the opportunity to play or own one.. until now!

You guys here at TB would be proud.. I sold a really nice PRS Singlecut guitar I've had for years (thought I might never sell it) to finance the Super J :bassist:. No regrets at all!

Excellent bass! Amazing neck, awesome playability, sounds great. The fanned frets and compound radius are sweet! Dingwall is absolutely in my "upper echelon" of favorite bass builders now, and I hope to own another in the future.

That Lakland is sick!!

Thank you sir!! I literally just received it yesterday after a ~4 month build time (it still has the little plastic bags on the tuners in that photo). It is my first ever custom build. I'm super happy with how it turned out.. I decided to take a bit of a leap and go for something a little 'different'. You don't see enough green basses, so I had to do my part :)

Oh man, you can't go and show me green Dingwalls now!! Going to have to ask my dog to go hide my wallet somewhere for a while and retrieve it when I come to my senses.. :help: :D

That's a sweet bass though, wow. It just looks like it sounds good.

Is that a "Sherwood Green" finish from them? It's really nice! I'd be curious to see it with a B/W/B or "mint" guard on it too. It would look good with all 3, it would be hard for me to choose if it were mine!

I just saw a "Dark Candy Green" finish on a Super P in a blog post on their site too. Looks similar to yours! I think it looks sweet with that B/W/B guard and the black blocks
