Don't give up too many fingers, you may need them to play!

I feel like Satan tempting you too!!

But I applaud you, that you can appreciate the fanned fret design without trying them. Alot of TBers dis the fanned frets and they have never tried them (they look funny).

I love the way they look and I like the idea of a varied scale. Granted, I'm a beginner so I'm only basing that opinion on what I've read.

I've never really heard anybody complain about adjusting to the fanned frets. I have heard complaints about some of the long scales, and people not being able to reach far enough.

Well, I took the plunge. My Stingray is gone and my Candy Tangerine/maple fretboard Combustion will be here Tuesday. I ordered it with an uninstalled white pearloid pick guard so now the question is, do I install it or leave it off? I'm going back and forth on it.

Leave it off. Why cover the beautiful paint job with plastic.

That seems to be the consensus so far among everyone I've asked. I really don't know why I've always liked PG's. I think maybe it adds that little bit of retro flair to it. We'll see when it shows up. The pic of it without it is winning me over a little bit.

I had the same dilemma when I ordered my candy apple green Combustion; I got an uninstalled white pearloid pickguard with it. It has yet to be installed and I don't think it ever will.

That tangerine does look good in that pic with no pg. Looks like it is still on schedule to arrive Tuesday so I'll get some pics up Tuesday night. Also, I forgot to mention, David at Bass Central was great to work with and shipped it out almost immediately after I called and ordered.
