I know a guy who used Pelican rifle cases for his basses. You can cut the foam to the exact shape of your bass. Makes a fine ATA flight case and it's not as heavy as one.

I played an NG2 in the store and i like just the front pickup. so on a 3x version, of course, I want to be able to use just the middle pickup by itself. You guessed it: I don't like the sound of bridge pickups.
A search through Talkbass didn't clear things up.

It is my understanding that the new NG3s come with the D bird switch. Mine did.

Thanks for the reply mate, that makes things simple then.
I was looking at the Dinger site again, and I noticed they actually make Ng2's in a 6 string - yay.
I thought for some reason they were discontinuing them in favor of Ng3 (silly me). So i might just stick with that. What pickup do you prefer?

I and others have had good experiences with the SKB-44PRO made for Fender Basses cases, it flies and trailers well. SKB Pro Series Bass Case

Really any good hard case that fits a Fender Jazz or P Bass will work as the Combustion's are the same length as them, though the body is a bit smaller than the Fenders they still fit secure.

I owned an original run Combustion 5 up to this year and sold it once I got the NG2 as it felt that bit superior. But I've found myself really upping my Dingwall game this year with the Combustion 4 purchase and DBird order falling in the same calendar year as well. I always knew I'd own multiple Dingwalls some day! :)

Sometimes I wonder if the brain just gets to a point and it wants "something different". Then it settles down and you can go back to what you were playing.

I tweaked the string heights and strap length and spent two hours playing along with some of my favorite songs today and am definitely starting to bond with this bass. Thanks to Lee, @husky123, and Matt, @MDBass, for their encouragement. This thing is some serious ****.

All the NG 3Xs (apart from a few early NAMM models) have DBird switches, according to Dingwall. You can get the alternate 3X switch from Dingwall if you want.

i can confirm that ng3s come with the d-bird selector set up. i'm the complete opposite though, i totally love the bridge pickup blended in with other positions.

Well i haven't got a Ng2 yet, but it seems on all the videos on You tube, everybody has the exact same sound (no offense). That back pickup, just sounds too "Jaco" for me. I 'spose I'll be the the only one just using the front pickup solo.
I prefer a more P bass sound. I was sold on this bass, when I found I could my sound out of it (my pickups are in the same spots). It's like my NT Dolphin 6 cranked up to 130%, with an even better B string, half the money and half the weight. Sold!
