Agreed. Super Js are more difficult to find which definitely increases their value in comparison. The ABZ is also a bit of a rarity...thus far... Loaded the way it is with electronics.

And for reference the base price for an SJ is $800 ish more then an ABZ.

So again, bass to bass it varies..... I mean you can find both older BASIC Js and ABZs for similar prices but then the scales teeter as options are added.

So I could not pass up this opportunity - a bubinga-wenge-pau ferro ABII HS 6. I missed out on a used HS 6 last year and wasn't going to let it happen again.

I don't remember the specs on your ABZ but they are a little higher with the electronics. 3X,3X switches and a pre(Darkglass?) your bordering a $1000 CAD upgrade from a basic ABZ. Id speculate your bass is worth $4200CAD new (maybe more/less. thats just my uneducated guess).

Does it have FDV or FD3? wont change the price much... just curious.

You can find some nice SJs in that range for sure but as mentioned, if you want to throw on an X top and stuff your Pushing up there. For example Mine has a "Pry it out of my cold dead hands" # of $6000 CAD before my hands get that cold .....or dead....

Replacement value is $7370 CAD

Take the top off
the wenge neck
the Zirocote FB
The wood block inlays
the contrast layer
and you can knock $3000 down from that price still giving you a solid SJ

Currently has 2 FDV's and a P. I do have a 3rd FDV and dependent on trade I'd want to keep the P.

Dude! Just a couple of days ago i played my NG2 in passive Mode for the first time really, and I can't believe how great that Sounds! I think i even prefer it over active right now! (i don't like passive at all normally)

I had the same pleasant surprise yesterday. I'm also an 'always on' guy if there's a preamp in the equation, but I flipped that switch the other way just to see what I would hear. ;)
