If you are looking for a preamp that does well with overdrive and distortion, the Dark Glass Tone Capsule is more suited to that. How did you guys find the Glockenang was if using overdrive and distortion?

Yes, on it's own, definitely the DG. But using with a pedal? It has been awhile but I did test an ABII with Glock using a distortion pedal. Although I can't remember which one, but probably whatever Darkglass pedal was hot at the time. I remember thinking to myself that the combination represented the best of both worlds, so in that aspect I felt the Glock worked well in the setting of using distortion based sound modifying. If you are looking for a preamp that does well with overdrive and distortion, the Dark Glass Tone Capsule is more suited to that.
It ain't quilt but it has a BassFace. It may have been the whalepool I was thinking of that someone here has. The quilts were introduced last year though. They might not have started appearing yet as you say.
I don't guess I can comment on that but if you browse the posts here and on facebook you will find that evidently many players thought so. I haven't seen any real data comparisons but would bet that in 2017/18 it was the single fastest growing/sales of any bass on the market. It would be interesting to see such an analysis. And this figure may extend backwards into 2016 but I think 2016 was when popularity really took off. I think the simple physics of long-scale low B was a major aspect of this for the 5-string.Sorry all, I’m new to Dingwall. What are you thoughts on the NG2 five string? Is it worth the price tag?
Thanks everyone.

Most here love it. Go back about 20 pages and read, the NG Bass has been most of the discussion lately.Sorry all, I’m new to Dingwall. What are you thoughts on the NG2 five string? Is it worth the price tag?

It works for me quite well through my Helix. I am barely rolling on any EQ, if at all. I'm getting some pretty gritty/grindy tones. How did you guys find the Glockenang was if using overdrive and distortion?
Yep... the only reason that I didn't order this bass was because of the maple headstock. Ah well... I'm sure my blue/purple D-bird will be be awesome.Thank goodness they didn't keep the maple headstock these had before!

Though from a distance it does kind of have that look.

After reading the naming your bass thread maybe I need to think of a name for it.
That is a "classic" pic if there ever was one. It will be on magazine covers in the future; "Tractor & Bass Classics".It ain't quilt but it has a BassFace.

I just can't help but think of bowling balls with that finish and inlay complement!
Love looking at all the Dingwalls so much but I can't help but wish that there was a separate thread just for the four bangers, especially my favorite, the Super P.
Hey!
So I'm in the process of putting down a deposit on a C3, and I'm really wanting to maximize my tonal options- so I want to cram the 3x switch in there for series/para, but will that fit inside a C3 cavity? Does anyone know? Also I looked through almost 100 pages trying to find out if I can change the rotary 4way combinations? I remember a guy saying it wasn't hard but didn't find any wiring diagrams or schematics, sadface.
Cheers!
I use an Aftershock pedal on my Glock enabled Combustion. I think its glorious. I can get a pretty close approximation to dark glass if I want, but overalli set it to stay very round even when I add the growl. At least that's how I explain the sound. I think the cool thing about the Glock is that when its all flat it sounds exactly the same as passive. It works for me.How did you guys find the Glockenang was if using overdrive and distortion?
