Dingwall Owners Club

Hey!
So I'm in the process of putting down a deposit on a C3, and I'm really wanting to maximize my tonal options- so I want to cram the 3x switch in there for series/para, but will that fit inside a C3 cavity? Does anyone know? Also I looked through almost 100 pages trying to find out if I can change the rotary 4way combinations? I remember a guy saying it wasn't hard but didn't find any wiring diagrams or schematics, sadface.

Cheers!
There is plenty of room in the control cavity of an NG3 Combustion for 3 series/parallel toggle switches. I also replaced the Dingwall selector with an off-brand 6 way rotary selector, giving me all the selections I wanted and then some. All the work was done by a professional in the LA area (moscustomshop).

Cool man! Dig those basses a lot!! And your music too! Mawesome to see you pop in here.
I’ve been tempted by the slap pocket thanks to you! Lol.

Did you ever sell the old red one?

Thanks!! You can ask about the slap pocket, but I have no idea what they'll say when you request it..

Yes, I sold the red one to pay for the ABZ.. it went to a guy here in Dallas named Kenneth.. plays/played for Soviet Dog Fight. We didn't keep in touch, so I have no idea whether or not he still has it.

Gotcha.
I remember seeing it listed and betting it had some good mojo built in.

Sorry all, I’m new to Dingwall. What are you thoughts on the NG2 five string? Is it worth the price tag?

Thanks everyone.

Shaun

My endorsement aside, I genuinely think the NG/Combustion is the best 5 string at its price point. (I'd have said it was the Sting Ray 5 before that)

Interesting - I find the Glock hotter than the Aguilar, at least the OPB-1. Never tried a 3.

I have an OBP-1 and an OBP-2 in two Dingwalls and you can switch between passive and active without any volume change. They've both always been unity gain.

I meant from a preamp comparison. I can take an AB2 with OBP-1 and plug it in the amp and have a certain volume level. If I take an AB2 with a Glock set at the same volume and plug into the same amp with no changes on the amp, the Glock is louder.

I use an Aftershock pedal on my Glock enabled Combustion. I think its glorious. I can get a pretty close approximation to dark glass if I want, but overalli set it to stay very round even when I add the growl. At least that's how I explain the sound. I think the cool thing about the Glock is that when its all flat it sounds exactly the same as passive. It works for me.
You had a Glock preamp put in? Did you do any other mods?

I suppose I'd be remiss if I didn't join the club here!

On the bottom is my F# Afterburner HS bubinga/maple top/wenge/birdseye (FD3 pickups w/ toggles & Glock pre)

On top is my B-standard ABZ swamp ash/northern ash top/maple/maple (super fatty II pickups w/ toggles and Darkglass pre)

Sheldon and the guys have taken such great care of me over the years!

I'm super excited to see you pop in! I've been fanboi-ing over Derek for a while now! I actually got with my guy to see if Dingwall would change the ABZ6 I've got on order to Black with Red accents instead of the Green. I haven't heard back yet, so, fingers crossed!

If you're going to NAMM, ask Sheldon to hook a brotha' up with that paint job...Please and thank you. :D

Sorry, not following you. So your ABHS shifted you to your ABZ as your main bass?

Obviously, I'm not Derek, but I believe his red one was a Prima. Since it's got a different neck/body joint than the Afterburners, I'm guessing after he got his ABHS, he just liked that neck/body joint better, so when he got a new bass, they made him an ABZ.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, which wouldn't surprise me at all...

Didn't know the history. Thanks for the explanation :)

Excited, just fitted a set of Diago Twistlock straplocks on my Combustion, took 5 mins.
There's no way for this strap to come off with this large 24mm button......my baby is safe.
Couldn't find any nationwide, but got lucky finding a job lot.
Have a few sets left over, in three flavors, if you need some PM me.

Hi Dingwall owners! I'm not a Dingwall owner myself, but wanted held ID'ing a bass. I was watching a show on Netflix with the wife yesterday called "Instant Hotels" and a bass that got shown in one of the episodes caught my eye. Just curious what model it was. The sliding switches is throwing me off a bit and can't seem to find them on Dingwall's website. Here's a couple screenshots:
