I'm super excited to see you pop in! I've been fanboi-ing over Derek for a while now! I actually got with my guy to see if Dingwall would change the ABZ6 I've got on order to Black with Red accents instead of the Green. I haven't heard back yet, so, fingers crossed!
If you're going to NAMM, ask Sheldon to hook a brotha' up with that paint job...Please and thank you.
The ceruse is a non-standard finish, but it might be worth the ask. Honestly, when it comes to spec'ing options, I have no idea what sort of preferential treatment I get as an endorser that they wouldn't do for others. And to be completely fair, I nicked the finish idea because I liked Acle Kahney's (TesseracT guitarist) signature Mayones that's done in black/red like that. It'll look kick ass if they'll do it for you.
I'm skipping NAMM this year I'm afraid!
Also, thanks for the fanboi-ing.. it's always awesome to hear I've inspired other players!

pbass is on the money pretty much. The bass in question was a red/purple burst 2001 "cello hip" Prima. It's not just the neck/body joint though.. I think it's the body itself. Gorgeous piece of work.. hated to let it go, but like I said, the sale funded another Dingwall so there's that at least!

Hey Guys! I have decided to order myself an AmethystBurst Combustion 6-String.
I am thinking Pau Ferro with this one. Whatcha think; Pau Ferro fretboard or Maple fretboard? And why would you choose one over the other?

Pau Ferro - matches purple vibe better. (not to mention, I am not a maple fretboard fan).
I’d go maple, even though I prefer the look of the Pau Ferro with that finish the maple headstock throws it off for me.
Ideal world Pau Ferro board and matching headstock. Real world, maple-maple.
They have a great looking booth this year.
I can’t help but shudder when I see all those beautiful, expensive basses on tradeshow tables.
Can you imagine having to listen to the din of NAMM for three solid days? Like being locked in a giant Guitar Center and trying to do business.

Me? I hate the look of maple boards. It's a shame there's no wenge or ebony option, so, if I had to pick, I'd have to go with pau ferro.
He (and I'm not talking about Sheldon) is obviously not used to having a handheld microphone.

Nordstrand makes good stuff but I’m not into blades.
