Was it possible to adjust sufficiently the bridge position(scale)? what about break angle, any issues there?

View attachment 3303255 Did someone say Prima? I was fortunate enough to get this used. (Middle) It was made for a guy who used to work at the Dingwall shop. Everything was hand selected over years of searching. It is an amazing bass. Left/top is the Cocobolo fretless. Right/bottom is the ABllHS. Set for life.

Yeah, that middle Prima has always been one of my favourites. I remember being surprised when the original owner listed it for sale. I can't remember what the asking price was. I only remember that it was way beyond my means. It's a beautiful bass.

As great as these basses are, this is what makes me hesitant to order a Matte Pink swirl NG3-6; the fear of getting a swirl that's more black than pink. If I get one that looks like the NAMM preview I'd be thrilled. OTOH if I get one with this kind of colouring, I would be unlikely to keep it. I have a, for lack of better words, poor luck track record of ordering things (musical as well as non-musical) online and from stores. I'd be heartbroken if I ordered one and had to wait nine months or more for it to come out looking more black than pink.

Maybe it is time to just buy one (even just white) and get it refinished. It won't cost you that much more and it can be any shade of pink you want.

I removed my Pickguard and painted the holes black. It even looks nicer, almost like a AB.

Depending on time and cost involved, I'm still open to the idea. That bass will never, ever leave me, but I love the idea of personalizing it. Considering it's my only bass, I'd have to get a replacement while waiting for the finishing job. That could take a long time due to the shop having an 18 month wait for custom builds.

I had a gig on saturday, first one with the NG-2. It absolutely kicked ass. I hope I'll get some clips soon.
Plugged into the board directly (some passive DI box), middle PU passive. can't get any more plug and play, really, a true workhorse bass. It kept the tuning perfectly all day, it sounded very nice with reverb and chorus shimmer, and delivered the 8ths pulse without any effects all the same. Very focused sound. You only really know a bass if you've played it live on a stage. I was certain it would deliver, and boy it did!

In all honesty, that's all I'd ever need. But... you know...

I would advise against covering those beautiful woods on the ABHS. They were left unfinished for a reason! You could always inquire about getting a non-swirl pink NG. I would think that would be easier to finish in a straight colour than swirl it. It might be more the logistics of getting one made different that the others.

Have you thought about getting a NG in any colour and having it vinyl wrapped? Cheaper than paint and reversible if you want to sell it at some point down the road.

@xnewyorka has pictures of the D-Bird in a regular gig bag, shouldn't really be much of problem with most normal bags.
Other than that, any non moulded (i mean internally) hard case would be fine, there was a post somewhere that implied you could purchase a hardcase from Dingwall as well (not asked myself though).

They're not cheap, but will provide plenty of protection in a much more portable package. I have the single and a double.
