Sounds like they are busier then all heck at the shop with some more excitement coming down the line. I’m super curious to see what he has in store for us. Sounds like headless and a new model.... perhaps one in the same.

I know..... believe me I’m very curious with what I’m spending this year I won’t be spending again without drastic financial change.

I’ve wanted a headless bass for a while......
Although I do love the look better of a matching headstock. But weight and portability are very enticing factors.

The jig he posted as a 'new model teaser' looks like it would only fit something with inline controls, at the moment the only thing that fits is a D-Bird.

I read through the comments, he said it was more of an update to an existing model so who knows.
I can't really see there being a big market for a 6 string D-bird what with it being 20 frets and restricted access to the higher frets (although maybe that alone is a reason to add another string).
My best guess would be something like a D-bird with a different pickup arrangement.

I had a Zon Vinnie 4, long ago. Great bass, super tight electronics package, light weight, and compact. I tried to love it, gave it a year...

Never bonded with it. I never got over the weird visual from the driver’s seat.

I’m afraid headless just looks amputated to me....

I think a great headstock design completes the package.

Speaking of headless. Here's a pic of me in the late 80's with my Steinberger. I loved this bass. Light, compact, killer fitted gig bag that let me take the bass with me in the van or car and not put it in the equipment truck on the road. Great tone and playability. Only sold it to finance my switch over to five strings in the early 90's. I have often wanted to go headless again and would seriously consider one from Dingwall. Also... I forgot to mention the love of not worrying about denting the headstock on cymbals.

The largest block in that jig locates in the control cavity. So it can only be something with inline controls and with a small control cavity. Only thing in the current line up that fits that is the D-bird.

I bought a Steinberger recently when I decided not to fly with a Dingwall. I'd be interested in one for such purposes but it would have to be a compact body to fly with it as a carry on.
