These are the only basses that look aesthetically normal as a headless to me.
Any normal bodied bass looks incomplete without a headstock in my eyes.

I feel the same way. Also in terms of travel, once you put a full body on a headless neck you lose the advantage of fitting it easily in an overhead.

I’d worry about a headless Dingwall, in that the nut is on an angle so that any knock would have the capability to damage the “pointy end”
Here is part of my "anything but old school" collection.
Honestly, this headless Pangton is one of the very best playing and sounding basses I have ever encountered in my life, if not the absolute best, at least in the monoscale world. And that is saying a lot, since I have tried pretty much everything.

Nice 80's hair dude!Speaking of headless. Here's a pic of me in the late 80's with my Steinberger. I loved this bass. Light, compact, killer fitted gig bag that let me take the bass with me in the van or car and not put it in the equipment truck on the road. Great tone and playability. Only sold it to finance my switch over to five strings in the early 90's. I have often wanted to go headless again and would seriously consider one from Dingwall. Also... I forgot to mention the love of not worrying about denting the headstock on cymbals.

Dingwall should collaborate with Wingbass to make super-short-scale travel instruments with fanned frets. Then call them “Wingwalls”

Does a headless fanned fret have a parallel neck butt or slanted? Not sure I'd want the neck to drop off from under my hand when I go to play the low C, but aesthetically it might be more pleasing that way.

The evidence seems to suggest I do! With 4 Le Fays, 4 Marleauxs, and 2 Sandbergs, 13.3% of the collection is German. And every one of them is a total delight to play. Also have 2 French, 1 Polish, 1 British, 1 Spanish, and 1 Czech bass. But nothing from Finland, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland, or any of the other great European builders, many of which I don't even know about. Also 1 Korean, 2 Indonesian, 3 Japanese, and all the rest are American or Canadian.You like german basses huh?

Urrrghhhh had to do my first "smart-repair" on my NG3....gonna see if it was smart or not.
I played above the 12th fret and suddenly I had an aweful buzz....looked at my bridge and there it was.
The bridgepickup was out way higher than the other two.
So I tried do screw it down but it didn't worked.
Pulled off the strings and looked under the bridgepickup.
The screwinsert somehow got out of the wood. For now I placed it back in with a bit of clue and a piece of wooden matchstick. I hope I can screw down my pickup in the evening without the insert coming out again. Otherwise I'll have to search for a M3-Insert which is bigger than this (5mm) and drill the hole a bit bigger.

Sorry to hear this. As long as you didn't get any glue in threads or directly below the screw this sounds like a solid fix.
Thanks for your reply. I didn't use much clue and watched out that there isn't any in the thread itself. Should be fine but gonna let the clue set for a few hours now.
