Dingwall Owners Club

not sure on the reverse part but definitely the burst part.

There was a black/pink AB burst at NAMM this year I believe.

If your thinking for your build spec I’d have to assume it is of coarse doable.
Thanks Nate. I am waiting to hear back from Dingwall with the official confirmation of my order. Hopefully Monday. There is nothing that says you can't have a reverse burst on an Afterburner, but since I can't find a single picture of one, I'll feel better when they confirm.

My order has changed a great deal in the last few weeks, and last week Dingwall asked for the final specs for their approval so they can start on the bass. I thank Jason @ Fret Nation for his patience with me. I have purchased many custom orders from Spector but this is my first from Dingwall since my "conversion" and I want to make it the best I can. It morphed from an ABZ w/ quilted maple xtop in whalepool burst, to an AB1 w/ maple burl xtop (bleached) in gloss purple/turquoise reverse burst w/ purple body. The wenge/wenge neck with speedo bars and blue luminlay stayed the same. With 3x FDV, all wired series and Darkglass Tone Capsule.

I have chosen this Xtop, and to have it bleached.

This is the reverse burst I've chosen.

Except the alder body back won't be turquoise, it'll be purple like the body on this purple/natural reverse burst.

Heck yeah! Super hot.
I understand that and I was a PIA during my fertless build. The one that’s almost complete I knew exactly from the first spec and haven’t waivered, other then on specs Dingwall could not complete at this time.

There was a hiccup in my build early on and I almost had to select a new top. The one you have chosen was the top I was almost ready to commit to. Love it. It’s gonna look sooo good.

Nice - 1465 was one of the ones I was considering, but I've gone with 1471 (ordered in February).

Edit: Oh wow, I just noticed a pile of new tops that have gone up in the wood room. Some amazing ones there now.

Yup, those were all there when I make my choice. I'll be honest, I had looked at that and chosen another top. I discussed tops with Jason and he said he really liked my choice, but his preference was 1465. I looked again at that top, started thinking of it bleached with the purple/turquoise reverse burst and it suddenly seemed right. The man's got taste!

It can be sooo hard to make the final choice. My build is inspired by the blood moon and nebula burst. Those maple burl tops make for such wicked bursted basses and I was soooo closer to wavering to what your doing.

...... and then those new walnut tops........ ugh. It’s almost tempting to get back in line and remortgage the house.

Looks like I'll be getting to see @MDBass in a couple of weeks! :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::thumbsup:
Me too, I just bought a ticket in the second row dead center. Really looking forward to the show. This will be my first time seeing a Dingwall in use on a big stage. I also asked Matt to find out and let me know what channel is IEMs are on, so that if my receiver will work on that channel, I can listen in. That would be pretty cool, since I will be sitting so close to the stage that I won't have an ideal house mix.

LOL! Now that is hilarious to me :roflmao:

Why so? Is it a crazy idea, or a creative idea, or just plain dumb, or what? You have piqued my curiosity.
It's awesome - using knowledge of how the stage works to personalize your experience at a show. Honestly I would LOVE to experience almost every show with the bass players IEM mix piped in to my ears. It's a creative idea I'd never thought of - and I would like to know if it works out well

I think I've finally narrowed down my amp search to a few different cabinets to pair with a Tecamp Puma 500. I spent some time waiting around to see if anything would come up on the local used market, and nothing did. Even the well of limitless Peavey TVX 410's seemed to has dried up completely since May :banghead:. Building my own cab has also been ruled out because I do not have the tools to cut circular holes accurately, or confidently build/wire/solder a crossover.

On my short list I have the Fender Rumble 210, Avatar SB126 (though any of Avatar's offerings are a possibility), and the Mesa Traditional Powerhouse 115 (discounted ATM due to being recently discontinued).
My plan is to eventually buy two of whatever cab I end up going with, which puts the Mesa a bit down the list, as I might struggle to find a matching cab in the future. Any of you folks have experience with these cabs? Any other cabs you've had positive experiences with in the ~$500-800CAD range that I should consider?

Here is my watch list of “damn I wish I needed more......” on Kijiji

If you got the streamliner(the one that got away. I’ll probably have one again) option you could sell the tecamp(great head by the way. I had one briefly)

I would in a heart beat but I’m currently sitting at 3 heads and 4 cabs. All I ever seem to use is one.....

That EA cab though.... I’d love to get my hands on that. And..... too many options.
