The Peterson strobe-based stuff is the most accurate out there. If you do a quick search on the tech involved in strobe, its different than what most tuners do. This is a tuner that you can use live and also do the most precision intonation/setup work at home with.

1. How old is that Korg? As in DT-1 "Cylon" era? That *was* our "light show" back in the day.
2. Just a few weeks for a C4 and Hub?!? Sweet. That board must be spectacular.

:D Exactly Korg DTR-1 racked back in 1993 with my then brand new Hartke 3500 MOSFET head. :D

Still have it, but not really all that useful anymore!

Yeah, I've got a new 'resolution' not to spend by way of CC for gear. So cash in, then spend. I've been working that way successfully for a few months, and it's doable with purchasing stuff like pedals where you're in the 100-500 range generally. We spent the past 1.5 years not paying any of our full band members so we could re-invest everything back into the band. This year we're paying a 'token' rate per member per show that's enough to feel a difference.

I've mostly got my board sorted these days, but have done some small adjustments. The C4 if successful will replace something. I don't know if that's an envelope filter or a synth.

I've basically got the compliment of effects I want to work with but do switch out pedals to see if there's something that works better or not. Like the Atmosphere reverb has ousted the Iron Ether Nimbus reverb. Nimbus probably sounds a little better but the Atmosphere is MIDI controlled with 16 types of verb/patches (and another 16 user programmable slots) and a variety of things you can do to the verbs.

Next 'gear' purchase will be a bulk string order from Sheldon. I only have a few sets left and I do go through them with regularity.

Do you use your reverb on gigs? I'm finding that just a touch of reverb really fattens up the bass synth presets on my C4 and Future Impact. At least when playing at home. Will test it out on two gigs this weekend.

Our old F# sets were Kalium. Our new F# sets are custom made by D'Addario. We still use Kalium for other alt-tunings.

The Truss-rod cutout represents a change in the truss-rod design. 9/64" ball end wrench for the old style "half-elipse" and 4 mm or 5/32" standard L wrench for the newer style "half-oval" shape.

I use the barest amount on my fretless just to smooth things out and make it a bit harmonically richer.

I use some of the more outlandish settings on the Atmosphere for some synthy or noisy sounds. I have one set up right now that has a ring-mod on the reverb return that's controlled by the LFO on the pedal set to a low BPM and then set to randomize the wave type.

I've been a Turbo Tuner fanboi since they first came out a few years ago, but that new StroboStomp look pretty sick!

I had a StroboRack and I've had multiple variants of the ST-tuners. The ST tuners are every bit as accurate as the Peterson stuff, since it's a true strobe tuner as well. I've got the mini version right now, and it hasn't lost a tuner shootout for me yet. The last contender was a Boss TU-3 Waza, and it really wasn't close. My several year old ST-300 mini was faster, more accurate, and easier to read on every bass, every time. I'm thinking about getting a full-sized ST-300 just to keep in my studio, but that new Peterson has me intrigued, especially at the same price.

I need to shut up and not spend any extra dough, since I'm planning on buying a Kemper after the Dingwalls show up...

(Yeah, I have a thing for tuners, preamps, compressors, and modulation...LOL!)

A touch of reverb on fretless is a beautiful thing.

I use the ST200. I've had it for close to ten years. Best tuner ever (maybe the 300 is better though :roflmao:)

Alright, folks, what color would you go for on the Capri Orange SP?

I'm leaning towards parchment because I feel like the color of the bass is already loud and flashy, but I also want to lighten it up a bit... the tort is nice, but I've never loved it with the orange.
