Got to try the D-Roc Standard today. What an incredible bass! The neck profile is great and the balance and feel of the bass are out of this world.

I had been under the impression the entire time that the position 4 was all three pickups. Oops. Okay, this makes way more sense now.

It is my understanding that the NGs shipped in 2018 all had the D-bird switch - although I Can’t remember exactly when they changed over from 2017/18, so possibly some of 2017 as well. It is also my understanding that the 3x became standard this year for basses received after a certain date this summer or perhaps late spring. The ones we just received have the 3x and is the current standard..
I like both but was enough kinda addicted to the full on of the D-bird but do concede that it is more refined with the 3x and have found my fav position 2.

In terms of standard, yes. But who knows, it could come full circle at some point. And, it is quite possible some dealers may have existing stock with the D-Bird switch.

I know you like the 3 on option, but i got to have a jazz selection, i.e., neck bridge. That was my grip with the D-bird switch.

Now I haven't tried it... but if you wired the neck pickup in the middle position and middle in neck position, then you get the jazz setup but only neck rather than middle......
