I've been to the shop. They have quite a few basses that are either not listed online or some that you can't order directly online, like those D-birds.
An email or a call would do, i suppose.
Have been messing around with the preamp and something weird is happening, managed to capture it today, it starts 7 seconds in. Anyone knows what might be the cause?
Also there is alot of noise from the preamp. In passive mode the bass has some hum but not so bad but in active mode the treble control increases the hum and if I were to remove my hands from the strings all hell breaks loose. The noise can be heard in the file, maybie this part is normal though, idk.

That noise 7 seconds in was from your cell phone. Remember, the phone has a radio transmitter in it. It sends packets of data that sound like that when a piece of audio equipment is in close proximity to the transmitted signal. Either your phone was in your pocket right behind the instrument, or your phone was somewhere near a cable or your amplifier. Just turn the phone off or put it a few feet away and you won't have that issue! Putting it in airplane mode might solve it too, I'm not sure.

That might be it! I was really spooked by it, such a nasty sound. I usually put my phone away when playing but might have forgotten.
No problem! I absolutely LOVE the way the D-Bird sounds! It's so massive sounding that I still wonder if there's some secret preamp that Sheldon put in it. Other than the F Bass that I have currently(Blue Fade BNF5 fretless), and the F Bass I had before this one(Brown Fade BN5), this bass gets more compliments from non-musicians than any other bass I've ever owned! That's saying a LOT, since I've owned some pretty outstanding basses.
While the ergos are magical to some, I do find them less so. It's super comfortable to play, it's just not the most super comfortable, to me.
This bass was always gonna be a temporary stop for me. I'd already ordered it's replacement before I bought this. I'd sell it now, but I gotta have a 4-string in the arsenal, and this DB sounds killer. I use it for anything that's in a dropped tuning(except dropped A, LOL).

Taking 3 or 4 of my Dingwalls to this year's Pacific Northwest bass get together. It is a little difficult to pick which ones to take, but, I'm taking:
1) Prima Artist -- this is an easy choice, especially as it's my #1 gig/rehearsal/recording bass
2) Z3 -- I'm still getting acquainted with this one, but I certainly feel having a 5 string Z there will be good
3) AB1 6 string (the greenburst one) -- Definitely want people to put their hands on a more modern AB than my my AB 5's, and my only 6 string Dingwall
4) The Darkglass / 1th Anniversary NG3 -- A pretty easy choice to take this one. Sure, it's a special take on an NG3, but it'll give folks a great idea of what the "entry level" Dingwall brings to the table
I keep debating taking one or both of my older (early 2000's) AB 5's. While great playing basses, it's already going to be a lot to manage with the above four, and I feel like these older ABs are different enough from their more recent offerings.
Should be a pretty fun day! I'm not the organizer/host for this one, and it's a bit more downplayed this year (I just had far, far too much on my personal plate to do this, this year). But every person that comes through the door can pick any of these up and have at it, through my rig or theirs. I'm excited

Yeah, it runs the gamut from top to "bottom". I wish I had a Super P, J, and a DRoc/DBird to take. Might as well show the whole portffolio
I love showing people these things in person. It's one thing to be able to talk about them online, but, once you hand a Dingwall to someone and see their reaction, that's priceless. I think every year at this event I turn a few people onto Dingwalls (note: not saying these turn into any kind of sales, I have no way to know). I definitely end up answering questions or referring people to dealers/Dingwall for answers - sometimes for a few weeks afterward. If nothing else, it's a fun way to engage the regional community and let people try these, since they don't show up in stores around here often at all. At my event last year I had people from all over the US, which was nice, but this year is a bit more low key.

I’m planning to bring my Super PJ5.
(And probably a couple MAS cabs).
